Madden NFL 26 Ultimate Team Deep Dive
Hey Madden Fans! Welcome back to Gridiron Notes, your home for Madden NFL 26 News and Updates straight from the developers. Today, we’re deep diving into Madden Ultimate Team. We are delivering a deeper, more rewarding experience, built around your feedback. Whether your focus is head-to-head or solo play, everything this year is built to reward your football IQ and creativity while keeping the experience smooth, fresh, and rewarding week after week. There are new ways to play and more reasons to build, so let’s dive in! More Programs. More Events. More Football. Our goal heading into Madden NFL 26 was simple: Deliver more and deliver better. We’re expanding both the volume of programs and the variety. Each major content drop will bring a new wave of Live Events, designed to push your strategic depth, stretch your lineup, and offer rewarding gameplay in both Solo and H2H formats. Every single major content drop will feature both a CPU and a H2H event, allowing you to choose your preferred path to play. Rewards are tailored to reinforce your team-building experience and tied to each event. With events delivered on a consistent cadence, something fresh is always available. KICKING OFF THE YEAR In Season 1, we’ll be kicking things off with a pair of events for our Preseason Standouts program: Long Drive. You will take on opponents in either H2H or CPU under special house rules. Following this up will be Campus Heroes with College OT for H2H players. Solo players can look forward to Campus Chaos, a unique twist on a Solo Season where you will play through four years of college (Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior), each represented by 2 games serving as the semester. This culminates in a Graduation showdown against the Campus Heroes themselves. Our final program of Season 1, Game Time, will launch our first team building event of the year. For H2H players, you’ll take on an abbreviated 5 game H2H Season with the most lucrative rewards for those that can manage to string together multiple Super Bowl wins. For Solo gamers, you’ll take on a Game Time twist on our new Solo Champions mode, including a slugfest against the Game Time Champions. As the year goes on, we’ll be delivering a wide variety of events, some of which are making their very first appearance in Ultimate Team. For example, while the Trick-or-Treat CPU event will be returning for Most Feared, it will be coming with a new twist: randomized House progression, each with its own house rules and attribute modifiers. Zero Chill will be bringing the heat with a new MUT team building event, where your event rewards will directly feed into your progression in the event as you bolster an event-specific lineup. You can also expect throughout the year some unique squads opportunities, a new type of battlescore-driven CPU event, as well as the return of some events that have been missing for a while now, such as the “Race” house rules event. SEASONAL EVENT PASS To capture all of the event goodness coming out this year, we’re introducing the Seasonal Event Pass. Building on the Showtime Showdown event from last year, Events in Madden Ultimate Team 26 will contribute to their own dedicated field pass. This will provide more flexibility in rewards and a more cohesive event experience across the entire Season. For Solo Players, you’ll be excited to hear that the Event Pass has room for you too, with our lineup of Solo Events this year also contributing to the Seasonal Event pass. WEEKLY SPOTLIGHT PASS In addition to the Seasonal Event Pass, another new pass will also be joining the mix – the Weekly Spotlight pass. The Weekly Spotlight pass will showcase specific programming throughout the year in a shared field pass experience to provide more freedom for rewards and progression. As part of this, all weekly programs will now share a single token, providing greater flexibility and giving you more control over your rewards. We’ll be debuting the Weekly Spotlight Pass with Legends. For its first iteration it’ll feature Legends, Team of the Week, and Collector’s Series. Collector’s Series Collector’s Series is a new weekly program that will have a new theme (Series) each Season, each with its own distinct style. Additionally, each Series will have a unique Collection Champion: if you can manage to get your hands on all of the Champions for that series, you’ll be able to earn a special, more powerful, version of your choice of Champion from that series. Collector’s Series will be debuting with the Signature Series for Season 1. Solo Play Overhaul We heard your feedback about solo play in Ultimate Team and we made it a priority to design a deeper and more rewarding experience for our solo players. This year, solo play gets the overhaul it deserves. We’ve completely redesigned our Solo reward structure to better support progression, pacing, and meaningful rewards. Solo players can enjoy the full Ultimate Team experience - team building, progression, and challenges - without needing to play H2H against others. SOLO CHAMPIONS This year we're introducing Solo Champions: a 12-game weekly gauntlet of escalating difficulty. It will serve as the pinnacle experience for Solo Players, measuring where your current skills are at. To enter, you’ll be given an entry token every week, and can earn more by completing weekly objectives. Then, you’ll choose your difficulty and rack up battlescore to earn rewards. Build up your Ultimate Team, hone your skills, and work your way up to tackling the highest difficulty levels of Solo Champions. Can we please have CB1 match up against WR1..? I'm not sure why this has not been a thing for years. Why does the CB1 spot matchup on the left side of the defense (right side of screen), when the WR1 (X) typically ends up on the left side of the offense? Or, bring back the direct matchup, where you can assign a certain DB to a certain offensive player. As it stands, there are issues when you want to have your CB1 or CB2 be also work in the slot. Also, can the spell RB option come back as well? I miss that feature as a quick RB substitution option (might have only been in older NCAA).4Views0likes0CommentsHELP: MVP Bundle Issues on Playstation 5
I preordered the MVP Bundle for College Football 26 and Madden 26 in April. When I confirmed the purchase College Football 26 appeared in the game library on my console immediately with a clocking counting down how many days, hours, minutes and seconds until it was playable. Madden 26 NEVER appeared in my game library and still has not appeared to this day (July 19th). The early access is just over 3 weeks away at this point and still NO Madden 26 in my game library. I have rebuilt the database on my console, cleared the cache, disabled and re-enabled console sharing, power cycled my console, unplugged it for a few minutes and plugged it back in, spoke multiple times to Playstation Support, opened up Case # 216224866 with EA, etc. I have done everything in my power to get Madden 26 to appear in my game library and it is STILL not there. How do I get Madden 26 in my game library so that I will be able to play the game when early access starts? Anyone?102Views1like4CommentsOnline Franchise Co-Op
Dear Madden Development Team, I am writing to express my deep disappointment and confusion over the continued lack of online same-team franchise co-op in Madden. For years, my friends and I have wanted to play together on the same team in Franchise Mode online, each controlling our own created players, playing against the CPU in a season-long franchise. This feature is fully possible locally on the same console, but for some reason, it has never been implemented online, despite the clear demand and technological feasibility. There is no reason why this cannot be done. Many other sports games allow online cooperative play in franchise or career modes, and Madden’s continued omission of this feature feels like a fundamental misunderstanding of your fan base’s desires. I have been a loyal Madden player since the 1990s, but I have stopped purchasing Madden in recent years because of this missing feature and the general disconnect between the game and the community’s needs. It is frustrating to see incremental updates each year while critical, community-building features like online franchise co-op are ignored. Imagine the potential: Friends controlling themselves as QB, RB, WR, etc., on the same team online in Franchise Mode against CPU opponents. Creating and building stories with our players season after season, competing cooperatively rather than just head-to-head. Increasing engagement and long-term retention from groups of friends who want to enjoy Madden together without forced solo or adversarial play. It blows my mind that in 2025, Madden still does not allow this, and I am asking you to prioritize this feature for Madden NFL 26 and beyond. Until this feature is implemented, I refuse to purchase Madden again. I hope this feedback is taken seriously by your team, as it represents a real opportunity to reconnect with long-time Madden fans who want to enjoy your game with their friends in a meaningful, community-building way. Thank you for your time and consideration. Sincerely, Disappointed, Lifelong Madden Fan5Views0likes0Comments(PLEASE EA READ THIS) Madden 26 Superstar Ko idea
Hi EA Team, I’m a longtime Madden fan and I’ve really enjoyed the Superstar KO mode from Madden 20. I’d love to see it make a comeback in Madden 26, perhaps with some new twists or updated teams. I feel like we should keep it like madden 20 but add more celebs like Travis Scott or Anthony Edwards like in madden 20 with Dj Khaled and Migos and yachty. And keep it the exact same PLEASE Its really fun have Golden tickets and legends make it feel special and also if you can please add a face creation for Franchise but if you can do the superstar ko idea Fist PLEASE EA READ THIS. Have old time legend like Peyton manning and john Elway rice moss Just like the madden 20 ko if it the exact same i will be happy even more PLEASE Best regards, R4tt7 Love your games Ea have a nice day.31Views0likes0CommentsMadden 26 Companion App Release Date
Hello, When is the expected release date for the companion app for Madden 26? Last year, it was nearly a month after the Madden release. I am a third-party developer that relies on the companion app. Knowing the release ahead of time would help me schedule around the release date to work on my application. I appreciate any information you can provide. Best, Josh38Views0likes0CommentsMadden league for madden 26
I am starting a madden league in madden 26 and will be giving out $50 for superbowl winner the first year. There will be a spin the wheel for team selection besides 2 team that are the lions and commanders which are both admins. Must have discord give, send your discord if interested and looking for comp players and people to play league long term. Soon as discord is full i will start the spin the wheel9Views0likes0CommentsDepth Charts
Please tell me for the love of god that you guys have quit messing with the depth charts in 2026? Meaning, stop switching them in preseason games after the 1st quarter in game 1, 2nd quarter in game 2, and sure enough 3rd quarter of game 3!! And when there is and injury and they player is placed back in the lineup, other positions change. Why? Please let us control the depth chart! I know franchise mode isn’t your guys favorite but some of us still play it. Thanks for all of your love and support!🤦🏻52Views0likes3CommentsRumor is dynamic lighting is only in the college game
If this is true, are you kidding me? It will be a hard no buy for me if that is the case. All this time talking about immersion and you can't make it so the sun doesn't violate the laws of physics? I really, truly hope the Madden graphics team did not do this. It's embarrassing that in 2025 we have games that don't understand that the Earth revolves around the sun, creating something we call SUNSET.40Views0likes0CommentsMadden 26 - CFB 26 = Buy both to acquire missing features?!
Seriously disappointed with no talks about dynamic lighting. Cfb 26 is getting actual innovation when it comes to lighting; not only region based lighting, but seasonal. Meaning that the sun will be in a lower position depending on how late in the year it is. (This is not small, its huge especially if youre a fan of west coast teams and using your favorite teams in madden) Im very confused to your approach to game developing. You guys are the same company; why are you making us choose between games and its features when you really SHOULD be asking; hey, what do i wanna play more? NCAA? Or madden? NFL or college? NOT WHAT GAME HAS MORE FEATURES. And yet thats how i approach these games now due to these decisions You guys are the same company! Why cant you include most of the features that the CFB team has implemented and innovated? and vice versa! If i buy college i get no halftime. If i buy madden the 49ers stadium looks like a blackout at halftime in santa clara. Let me guess.. thatll be a feature next year, right ea? Wnd maybe youll the updated snow games to cfb 27, right? Cmon ea. ADD DYNAMIC AND REGION BASED LIGHTING TO MADDEN 26. SHARE FEATURES. STOP IT. It’s like they’re purposely holding back features in this game. Yes, I know dynamic lighting updates could literally be added into a patch or title update but at this point, it feels like they’re just waiting for madden 27. It just doesn’t make any sense. Not to mention licensed coordinators; which cfb added 300 and want madden can’t add like… what? 96?55Views1like1Commentcoin flip
Its weird that I have missed the classic idea of the coin flip and making the choice in the beginning of the game. recently I was playing college 25 and like madden the last several years, found the game automaticly picks for you based the 1st choice in settings. but I find at times, I like change it up. so why is madden taking that part of the game out the last 5 years. Sometimes my gameplan is based on the flip, and how I want to start off. I Know its not in this game, but why not bring it back.10Views1like0CommentsMadden Franchise Coop
It would be incredibly easy for EA to bring back the co-op feature in Madden franchise mode, especially considering it was already a staple in past versions of the game. The core mechanics—multiple users managing teams, drafting, trading, and playing games together—are already built into online franchises. Adding local or online co-op for users to control the same team or play side-by-side in a franchise would simply build on existing functionality. Not only would it enhance the gameplay experience, but it would also make the mode way more enjoyable and social. Friends could rebuild struggling franchises together, take on dynamic storylines as a coaching duo, or just have fun competing cooperatively, which adds a whole new layer of immersion. The fact that it hasn’t been reintroduced yet feels like a missed opportunity to make the game more fun, engaging, and replayable.83Views2likes2CommentsIn the huddle experience
Hi my name is Shawn Shaw! I like to say thank you for creating these football games. I love playing them. I buy the game as soon as it releases every year. Now I have an idea that I think it would be really awesome for us Madden players and I’d like to present it to you guys. Do you know when you’re watching NFL through the season and you’re watching it on TV and you see the camera and you got players miked up and you can hear them in the huddle like all right we’re gonna run scattered to West right tight F left 372 y stick the spot. That’s just a random play, but why don’t they put actual play names in Madden when they’re doing the huddle had the quarterback down on his knees or whatever given out a play like it would be a real life thing right then when you go to Audible instead of saying COVID-19 or whatever they say, why don’t you guys add Axel audibles that you hear like Peyton Manning Jared golf big Ben call out like Omaha or Hank like Drew breeze used to do. This is just a suggestion. I think it would involve more people than what you already got.13Views0likes0CommentsShould the tush push be added to madden 26?
Honestly, I think that giving the players a play option of using the greatest play on 3rd and 1 would be great in madden. A few adjustments could be made, like only the eagles or specific teams being able to us it, but those will just be minor adjustments. Overall, I just think that the tush push would be great in madden 26, especially when an Eagle is the front cover16Views0likes1CommentRookie Premiere Transfer Between Consoles
With presumably a handful of players switching from playing on Xbox or PS5 to Nintendo Switch 2, now is the perfect time to allow cross platform Rookie Premiere transfer. Considering our data is linked to our EA accounts, my suggestion is granting earned Rookie Premiere cards to whichever console accesses Madden NFL 26 first. If I earned my cards in Madden NFL 25 on PlayStation 5, I should be able to login to my EA account to play Madden NFL 26 on Nintendo Switch 2 and receive my Rookie Premiere cards on that console. I implore the developers to make this happen, as there are likely dozens of players such as myself considering switching to a portable console, but don't want to miss out on the rewards we worked so hard for in Madden NFL 25. Thank you.27Views0likes0Comments
