Stat Overlays During Franchise Don't Say What Stat is Being Showed

I have seen the same issue.  For example, if the stat being displayed is for a team's yards given up per game, and the number of yards given up during the current game so far, it does not list "Defense Yards Allowed" or anything other than the team name and numbers with no explanation of what the numbers are for.  I was only able to deduce the meaning of the stats some of the time based solely upon what the numbers are.
