Superstar Contracts Don’t Match Performance — Please Fix Progression Logic
I’m providing feedback on Madden 26 Superstar Mode, specifically regarding QB progression and contract logic. In its current form, the game heavily prioritizes completion percentage, passer rating, and efficiency metrics while almost completely ignoring wins, playoff success, and Super Bowl performance.
This creates an unrealistic and frustrating experience. You can win MVP, carry a team through the playoffs, and win the Super Bowl as a starting QB, yet still receive extremely low contract offers because your overall rating or completion percentage wasn’t high enough. Development opportunities and contract negotiations should reflect true on-field impact and team success, not just stat-sheet efficiency.
Key issues:
- Wins, playoff runs, and championships have little to no influence on progression
- Dev Trait upgrades are tied to narrow statistical goals rather than overall performance
- Superstar QBs who achieve major milestones still receive near-backup-level contracts
- Contract logic feels scripted and disconnected from player achievements
- Team value does not increase for high-impact or clutch performances
Suggestions:
- Make wins, playoff performance, and championships meaningful in progression
- Adjust contract logic to factor in awards, team success, and clutch moments
- Allow Super Bowl runs or MVP-level seasons to trigger Dev Trait opportunities
- Improve the balance between efficiency stats and real QB accomplishments
- Ensure contracts reflect a player’s role as a franchise QB, not just their OVR
Superstar Mode is supposed to let players build a career based on their performance, but the current system doesn’t reward high-impact achievements. Adding more weight to wins and major accomplishments would make Superstar more immersive, realistic, and enjoyable.
