Superstar Fake Stats?

So, on top of all of the other issues with Superstar's game mode, I now have stats I didn't do. I started a new career as a halfback. In my first game, I supposedly was not the starter, but when I finally saw action in the 3rd quarter, I peeked before I even played the first down and saw that I already had 21 carries for 50 yards in the game. I didn't play those downs. Now I'm stuck with those stats for the rest of my career?!

Is this going to continue throughout my career? Will I only get some carries and the game will simulate the rest? Why would I play that if I cannot "own" my own career?

My gawd this game is so broken.
