Superstar mode needs a major overhaul
I know I’m on a long list of people who are displeased with superstar mode but I will list my complaints anyways and hopefully someone who works at EA will read this and implement these ideas.
Madden is the worse sports game out. MLB the show and 2K are better simply because they put more time into their offline modes such as MyCareer and road to the show. I am playing MLB the show 25 right now (not getting 26 not because it’s a bad game but there’s no major difference between the two which is fine because 25 is a fine game as far as RTTS is concerned), and the crazy thing is I use to hate baseball. For reference I played football for 21 years of my life, 4 of those years pro arena, so football has been my life for quite some time. But MLB makes RTTS so fun and so immersive, and yeah it’s a little repetitive but all sports games are. Not everyone wants to play chronically online and these offline character modes are what we look forward to. It makes the experience far more personal and fun. Madden only works on the modes they feel will make them the most money but you’re going to lose money not trying to improve the game for people who don’t play online.
Simple things that Madden can do to make the superstar mode experience far better;
-Add the sim game option to superstar mode. Most of us don’t want to play 17 games (plus playoffs) for 15+ seasons or however long a players career last. Most of us also want to be able to finish our characters career. A solid example of a satisfying EA game that allows you play your whole character’s career would be UFC 5. I got to play through 2 characters full UFC career and I had a blast through each one.
-Add the little details to superstar mode. Sometimes, the little details go along way. Example: show yearly stats, show award races during the season, show college accomplishments for those of us who put in the work and spent money on NCAA. Work on the glitches where announcers are saying the wrong position of your character or wrong school that they were drafted from.
-Improvements that can be made next game can be showing your character warming up without pads pregame. Add little fun details that they have in real life. Pregame shows anticipating the matchups or playoff implications. Make the characters warm up catered to their position too, example: QB’s throwing while listening to music, RB’s practicing receiving hands offs, WR’s catching etc.
These are genuinely just small improvements that would go along way. Please don’t give us the excuse that it would take too long or cost too much. You guys are a billion dollar corporation. I for one, will not be getting Madden next year and possibly NCAA until legitimate improvements are made. Far too many great PS5 exclusives and anticipated games are coming out for me to waste my money and time on a game that doesn’t cater to all your players. It’s not fair that we have to become apart of the online slop community if we want to enjoy the game. Nobody wants to participate in the cheese that is MUT or online franchise. I just want to enjoy my game in peace offline with my character.
