What up with this year's game?
Are these games scripted? Not play to play but overall wins and loses? Because I swear, something is off about this game. Titans Vs Jags, I out-rate the Jags in EVERY category (3 years in my franchise). Overall, offense, and defense. Their D in my franchise was a 74 overall. My offense is an 85. D, mine is 85 as well to 78 on O for the Jags. I've played the game TWICE. Both times it went into overtime. Quit because it was dumb AI cheating that lead to the overtimes.
So I decided to sim the game... lost 27-24....in overtime. What's the chances of this happening THREE TIMES with a team I blow away with the in-game ratings? Yeah, division foe, I guess that means all that work you put in to raise your ratings mean nothing when the game decides all on it's own. I call it the "any given sunday" code, like ice tilt in the NHL series they claim doesn't exist... it does, they just don't call it "ice tilt."
This has been a huge issue this year, games don't feel authentic. It feels like the game does these weird things to manufacture a competitive feel to the games, but they don't feel competitive. I feel like the AI cheats to keep games close and it's stupid every single time.
I've said this before regarding Madden 26. I've never rolled my eyes playing a game so much before.
I wish I took a picture or video of this to prove it. Crucial 4th down. I decided to run because I've been converting 3rd and short running all game. Guess the AI recognized its play call was weak so it forced something so stupid I still get angry thinking about it. 4 man rush on a 4th and 1... my line triple teams one guy and double blocks another, leaving TWO defenseman uncontested. Guess how that play ended?
I'll routinely have O linemen just standing there like they're pinching a loaf off while the D has their way behind the line. I once had a full back just keep running towards the sidelines leaving the ONE guy unblocked that could have lead my team to a large gain.
Dropped passes are often ridiculous. I'll watch the replay, TWO hands on the ball but the DB touches my receiver's back so he drops it. Hey... got to keep the games close so they feel "competitive."
This may be the dumbest game I've ever played. Not just Madden, in almost 40 years of gaming. Hand down, the DUMBEST game I've ever played. Congrats, team, you did it!!
