Getting "Your signed in account needs an active EA Play membership."

like the title says. keeps telling me i need an active EA Play membership even though I have one through my PC Game Pass through Microsoft, even says I have EA Play when logged into the EA App on my PC, with my Xbox account linked. Just trying to play the 10 hour free trial to see if I want to purchase the game and its already making me not want to. Downloaded the game and have been waiting all day to try the game on my weekend off, but no, I'm doing this instead. Please help
