EA Corporate Leadership Ruined Madden

There are so many aspects of this game that are essentially broken — to name a few:

  • OL blocks getting blown up
  • OL / other blockers not engaging in blocks
  • Weight mechanics (e.g., HB like Bucky Irving running over Cam Heyward at the goal line)
  • Certain controls not working properly (e.g., the cover ball button barely works for me)
  • Commentary not syncing with actual teams (e.g., every CPU team is labeled first in the league in passing)
  • Negative cap space in Superstar mode preventing influencing front office to male trades
  • Inability to see past accolades and season and game stat records in Superstar mode (e.g., they don’t let you see your trophies won, or your past record performances)
  • BS reward system in Superstar (e.g., gatekeeping skill points through MTX)

This franchise is how old?!  There isn’t a valid flipping excuse for this.

My speculation is that it’s those greedy execs confining the devs with ridiculously short deadlines and barebones resources, so they struggle to flesh out the game properly.   You can’t seriously expect me to believe these folks are incapable of improving the quality of a near 40 year-old franchise.

Bogus, man! Bogus!

  • I been saying this myself. These poor people that actually have to work on this game don't stand a chance.

Well Said TheNoiseBrigade also, great username!!!

I think this next update is make or break for this game...Like I think if they miss on this update it will impact sales of the game long-term, and to be honest it might have already happened.

This is the worst madden game I have ever played, yet it is the most visually appealing madden I have ever played. I think this year's madden had the potential to be the best madden ever, and instead, it is by far the worst. And that is a competitive field, so congratulations I guess?

I think the biggest problem was they added too much to the game. All of the coaching adjustments were too much. For whatever reason that created a lot of the issues with OL blocking and man coverage. Changing the pass rush move triggers was also a terrible mistake.

The way to fix this is easy, you just get rid of all the stupid coaching adjustment stuff. Who wanted all of this extra stuff to do pre-play? There isn't enough time to make all the adjustments you need to make in order for this to work. This is still a video game. This isn't real life. I don't want to be an offensive and defensive coordinator. I just want to play a video game. It got WAY too complicated this year and they have to know that.

I know for me personally, I will hope they can figure this year's madden out, because there is no chance I will ever buy this game again. I have said that before, but this is different.
