Franchise Mode QB Play

I’m playing through coach mode and I’m noticing QBs are either not throwing and taking the sack or are scrambling too late and get hit anyway rather than consistently throw. I watch replays and see quick reads that are WIDE open on situations where they can easily take that route and stay on schedule. It seems like the AI is playing “afraid” or “slow” because QBs are consistently underperforming. I have tried QBs in the high 70s, mid 80s and even the 90s as far as OVR goes. Protection holds up fine without penalties and they have time for plays to develop. There are times where they play like they should but that occurs maybe 2/10 times. Anybody got advice or notes on that?

  • What are the QB’s you tried using player style’s  ? For example Lamar Jackson would be an aggressive gunslinger or scrambler and not a pocket style qb or maybe your qb has a style of being  oblivious while under pressure.
Because if your playing coach mode and it’s very similar to last years coach mode ( slow simming ) if you had a pocket qb they would obviously stay in the pocket longer and get sacked more ( also in madden26 your qb would always  look for check downs and the slot wr would be his fav target in slow sim ) guessing here you will definitely need a qb style of Aggressive gunslinger (for example ) just to take quicker and more aggressive shots down field or to just make quicker reads while under pressure . And with this being the first year EA actually brought back a coach mode I’m sure there will be plenty of patches/ updates to this particular mode of play . With all the different archetypes of players that EA brought into the game this makes sense as far as your qb just napping and taking too many sacks in the pocket . ✌️
