Purchasing Problem

I purchased Madden 27 through Steam a while back. I was then away from my account for personal reasons until recently, at which time I attempted to play. It crashed multiple times, even after reinstalling and making exceptions in my antivirus. I contacted Steam to request a refund, but to no avail. I would still like to play the game, but I can't repurchase through the EA app without purchasing a more expensive version. Is there any way that I can repurchase the standard version without unlinking my Steam account? Or can I unlink my Steam, purchase, and then re-link? I'm hoping there is a solution to this.
