Madden 27 PC EA Play Trial Not Working

I'm experiencing an issue with the EA Play 10-hour trial for Madden NFL 27 on PC, and it appears I'm not the only one. I've found several posts on both the EA Forums and Reddit from users reporting the same problem.

I purchased an active EA Play subscription specifically to access the 10-hour Early Access trial.

The EA App correctly recognizes my subscription and shows:

  • 10-hour trial included with EA Play
  • Less than 10 hours remaining
  • The Play button is available

However, after launching the game and signing into my EA account, I'm immediately greeted with the following message:

"Thank you for trying out Madden NFL 27. Your signed in account requires an active EA Play subscription. Please purchase EA Play and try again."

Here's what I've already verified:

  • My EA Play subscription is active.
  • I'm signed into the correct EA account.
  • I'm launching the game through the EA App.
  • The EA App recognizes the trial without issue.
  • The EA Play website also advertises the Madden NFL 27 10-hour trial.

I've attached the following references:

  1. EA App showing my active EA Play trial
  2. Official EA Play page advertising the Madden NFL 27 trial
  3. In-game error requiring an active EA Play subscription

Since multiple users appear to be experiencing the exact same issue, this seems like it may be an EA account entitlement or backend synchronization problem rather than an isolated account issue.

Can someone from EA confirm whether this is a known issue and whether a fix or workaround is currently being worked on?

    I had the exact same issue with the Madden NFL 27 EA Play trial. The EA App showed my active EA Play subscription, the 10‑hour trial was listed correctly, and the Play button worked — but once the game launched, it told me I needed an active EA Play subscription.

    What fixed it for me was simply:

    Signing out of the EA App → closing it completely → signing back in.

    After doing that, the game immediately recognized my EA Play entitlement and the trial worked without any further problems.

    Hello, I'm having the exact same issue except it is on my xbox, so I'm wondering if you or anyone knew of a solution because I obviously don't have an application or anything to sign out of.

    just tried this on PlayStation, so it might not work for Xbox, but it’s worth a shot. I had to go into my settings on the console and cancel my EA Play subscription on there, even though it’s still active for however long you have left. Then I restarted the console, and I had access to the trial. Hope this helps
