We all know that Joe’s dad, Jimmy, was a defensive back when he played professional. So why did Joe go a different route? His third-grade team didn’t have a QB. So, he became the QB.
2. Cincinnati created a dish in his honor.
The dish is called The Bengal King. Izzy’s, a deli place in Cincy, has named a sandwich after the player to celebrate the top pick. The sandwich is The Bengal King and it consists of a riff on the classic Reuben including corned beef, sauerkraut, thousand island dressing, and Swiss on grilled marble rye.
3. Burrow is very well spoken.
When Joe won his Heisman Trophy in December, during his speech, he addressed poverty in his home region of southeast Ohio. Joe was up on the stand to show all those young generations anything was possible. His words were so convincing that a fundraising page was made by a town citizen who raised nearly $500K to help the Athens County Food Pantry.
