ability cap
My ability cap is set to 6 for offense and defense. I can't remove any points to take it down to 6 (which is supposed to be 12 anyway. i can't play the game at all.

Sub your players out and back in. It should deactivate their abilities when you do. Or just swap them around until you hit 6. Same issue here btw.
i just subbed out for the players they force you to keep. heritage ones. Then subbed back and main guys were deactivated. If they are in multiple positions in the depth chart you have to remove them from all of them and sub back.
