This also exists in our online CFM. Multiple users have varying degrees of "active negotiations" without having any active negotiations. I wonder if it's the same teams? For us, we are in offseason 2, and the Raiders are 21/5, the Chiefs are 4/5, the Seahawks are 3/5, and the Browns are 5/5 (at least, not sure, he hasn't responded, but said he can't make any bids).
I did some testing, and it appears unrelated to the "Re-sign" phase and how many players you negotiate with. For example, the Browns didn't try to re-sign anyone during the re-sign phase and the Seahawks only tried to re-sign one guy and he re-signed, so he shouldn't have had any active negotiations from there. I personally have all CPU assistance off, so it's not associated with the CPU making offers on my behalf, either.
One way around this would be to not have anyone sign anyone until Week 3 of free agency where its unlimited offers. You can undo any signings in the transaction tab during the offseason if people have signed people. Then In week 3 of free agent period use the 3 eval periods to "Simulate the 3 weeks of free agency you would normally have". It sucks not to be able to use the new system of having limited offers during week 1 and 2....but its broken. This is the best thing I can think of to make it fair for every user in the league.
Still encountering this. It's February 19, 2023. The game has been out for 6 months. Free agency is literally broken. This is absolutely unacceptable.
- @ExpedientFalcon I don't think EA is looking at franchise issues. I posted about this in the franchise forum and have been bumping it to have anyone at EA review. It's been in the top 5-10 franchise posts for 3 weeks. Not heard a peep.
