As someone who just started playing Madden Ultimate Team last year I have a few suggestions that will help maximize your potential. Coming in clueless I made a lot of mistakes especially with coin management so that’s going to be my first tip. SAVE YOUR COINS!! I understand everyone wants to have the best team as soon as possible but this is a year long process. Only upgrade a position when you absolutely have too. If your players are performing don’t get caught up in their overall, especially this early in the game. An 80 OVR might look good now compared to that 74 OVR but a month from now it won’t matter.
If you’re going to spend, spend on players that have the highest chance of remaining in your line for the longest time. Think about positions with depth. WR, CB, and TE come to mind, all with 3 slots available. You can get 2 upgrades at those positions and still be able to have your original investment in the lineup. MLB and DT also get an honorable mention for having a minimum of 2 open positions. When better cards get released you’re going to wish you had money for packs or the AH instead of blowing it on an 80 overall.
Another tip I have is when you do upgrade think DEFENSE DEFENSE DEFENSE. I’m not just talking your LB, Safety’s and CB’s. Think about your offensive line too. It won’t matter if you have the best QB and fast receivers in the game if your O-Line isn’t protecting you. Those positions are also fairly expensive so if you get a chance to power up a guard or tackle DO IT. They can make the worst QB and slowest receiver look like Brady and Gronk in a Super Bowl.
The last tip I have is use social media for help if you need it. I know social media is not for everyone but there are so many people in the MUT community willing to help, whether it be Twitter, Twitch, Muthead or the Madden Ultimate Team reddit. They will help guide you throughout the year when new content is released. That’s what helped me the most last year. If you need any kind of suggestions, information, tricks or tips there will alwaye be people willing to help. A lot of them also go out of their way to explain the new content and give tips how to maximize your success. If you be patient, make smart moves and think about the end game goal of reaching 99 you’ll have a good year.
