If at anytime you upgraded a card, for abilities or theme team, even if upgrades are removed the card will cause the error.
That is what appears to be the issue. I have had a second copy of a card work, so that makes me think it is not a specific card causing it, which is what I thought the problem was for a long time.
There is no way to know what you have upgraded as far as I know. Other than remembering or writing it down.
This is unintended, sets have never worked this way, nor are they supposed to. They should have let us know this is an issue months ago, or do what it takes to get enough people working on the game to fix bugs faster than 2+ months later.
