Your EA account must be linked to your Play Station or X Box account for Madden to be available for online play and roster downloads. My Play Station account had been linked to an EA Sports account that was disabled (As it turned out the account was an account which I did not create, I assume I had been hacked and account stolen). I got a message when I tried to link my accounts which stated "An EA Account can only be linked to one Play Station Network account in its lifetime". I have attached the message I received from EA Sports.
The bottom line for me was I had to contact EA sports support and have the link to the disabled account unlinked, then re-linked to my legitimate, current account. After that was fixed everything worked perfectly.

By the way, EA should be all over these posts and trying to help customers, not relying on their customers to provide technical support. Tech support at EA is indifferent to their customer concerns which likely is a management training issue. Great game, abysmal support.
