Can't play Face of the Franchise because of EA servers

I'm playing Madden 23 on PC which means I have to deal with the EA App. 

The EA App often loses connections to servers and I have to hard reset it just to launch games. As a result, Madden 23 is constantly logged out of EA servers.

I can play (offline) franchise but not offline FOTF. Why?

I get "Unknown login error occurred" when I try to sign in.

I get "You have lost your connection to the EA Servers."

What's the way to permanently fix this? 

It's annoying that I have to use my task manager to stop the EA processes and restart at least once a play session.
