You can make sure game updates happen automatically via the Origin menu, Application Settings, Client Update, turn automatic game updates ON.

Hey Ea_Barry. I'm getting the same issue. I have the game on Steam and my friend has it through Origin. Could that be the issue? Even though when I launch it on Steam it requires me to have Origin launched. Can Madden 21 be played between friends who purchased it on Origin and Steam?
