Clock Issue, Adjust Lineup, Menu Time + Suggestions Galore

I wanted to offer a quick suggestion that has been an issue for the last two or three Maddens. When a player goes out of bounds at either 2:01, 2:02, or 2:03 (maybe 2:04) near the two minute warning in either the first or second half, for some reason, the clock automatically starts back up when the players approach the line, and goes to the two minute warning. I'm not sure if this is by design as a way to speed up game play, or just sort of a wonky glitch that has carried through the last couple installments of the series, but it feels unnatural. As time and possession late in the game or in close games is critical. I would really like for programers to take a look at this phenomena and clear it up, for game purity.

Another suggestion, as we've moved to a no-huddle clock run off format, I'm not sure how to fix it, but we used to have a hurry to the line feature, where the QB could hold-A in the pre-snap time, and get a little bit of quick feet and get under center. At times the no huddle option feels a bit arbitrary, we see a clock run off penalty, but when we do get control back off the players, there is no way to get that urgency back into the team, and they mosey back to the line and the QB goes through his mannerism before finally getting under center. Bring the hurry to the line feature back.

To complement hurry to the line, when a defense picks its formation and package, before the offense, forgoing the chance to see the other teams offensive package, allow us to start making our defensive adjustments early. Defense has to wait for the offense to get rolling, and is at a disadvantage, as we try to slam in defensive adjustments, nothing is worse than a quick snap, where you were trying to tailor a defense, especially against a spam artist, and getting caught out of position, because we were stuck in a key stroke, trying to make an adjustment. for example to try to set an individual defense play adjustment to man to man on one player is 4 buttons. and its easy to get caught flicking the right stick just after snap, or pushing a player out of position, trying to make a last second defensive key.

I think it might be time to keep us defenses and offenses on the field, and not leave to where we don't see the players, it would be sick to see package adjustments, guys running on and off the field, to really feel the pressure of what a no huddle does to defenses, in terms of substitutions, packages and fatigue etc. So yeah let us get our defensive adjustments in early, so we can make more of them, man align, press a couple players, drop a linemen into a zone, its not possible against a quick snap, who can audible and go in about two clicks

On the menus end: time is of the essence. Madden 22 took a step back when it buried adjust lineups, in another sub menu, creating the need for an additional click, and an additional wait period before going to rosters. Which since we are adjusting rosters constantly starts to add up.

it should be noted that the adjust lineup mode, where it shows all of the players photos actually does not allow you to adjust the rosters, that only happens in the depth chart. so Adjust rosters is actually more like look at rosters.  it would be cool to be able to make some overall lineup roster moves in the adjust lineup menu, which we should un-bury as it was in Madden 21, and not how we buried it in 22.

I think all of the flashing triangles and background images and flickering could have contributed to the slower loading and processing times in madden 22, a lot of noise. and the time it took to load the menus was slowed significantly, it would be great to clean this up and optimize it for speed and less for flash and aesthetic

it should be noted that the adjust lineup menu portion where we look at the defense and offense player photos has this sort of odd flip flopping with the depth chart. The offenses #1 wide out on the depth chart is on the right, but the number one DB is on the left, and then when they lineup up on the field its actually the #2 DB that gets the #1 wideout, but in the adjust lineup of the defense its shown in the reverse. I'm not sure how you guys want to proceed to make this a little more fluid, but there is wrinkle in there that i think could be looked at for accuracy as we take the field.

lastly, lets just get rid of the refs completely. If we dont have them on the field anymore, we really wont miss them in the cut scenes. we will accept not seeing any more refs call penalties just as we accept clock run off for the no huddle, just show the penalty menu and let us proceed, like the superfast coin toss feature, and the skip halftime modes. and as much as we advertise to stop racism on madden in game advertisements, if we dont get rid of the refs, it should be noted we are only showing white refs, and it would be a nice place to demonstrate the commitment to diversity with actions in the game as well.

I'm a 20+ year veteran of the franchise and I look forward to firing up this years installment. I love fantasy draft mode, and play online head to heads, so always want to make a plug to keep fantasy draft alive an well. On the head to head mode, I would love if the game could save my depth charts so i didnt have to change entire teams, everytime I shut of the xbox and turn in back on to get a head to head matchup

sideline animations of players, it would be great if it was the actual players on the team, we could see then moving around and not generic synchronized swimmers.

stadium wise, it would be great to see more details in the fans, the reason the players cite when they win superbowls, people leaving early, leaving at half time, custom stadium atributes. as we run out of ways to improve the game beyond look and feel and use much of the same mechanics and programing from year to year, I see new unchartered territory in the fans them selves and the living feel of the stadiums responding in game beyond the occasional roar of the crowed, or quieting

Just dropping some nuance for the programers and legendary madden fans alike

Be well everyone

thanks
