Commentary Changes
Over the few years, Madden gamers have listened to the dry, repetitive, unoriginal, and stagnant sounds of Brandin Gaudin and Charles Davis on commentary for every single game in Madden. This has got to stop now and needs to seriously be remade to bring back the excitement of playing a game in Madden. My suggestion for solving this problem would be to incorporate the real-life announcers who actually call NFL games throughout the football season in real life. Guys like Tony Romo, Louis Riddick, Chris Collinsworth, Jim Nantz, Troy Aikman, Joe Buck, Al Michaels, Greg Olsen, Steve Young, and even Jonathon Vilma are just some of the names that need to be the ones calling the games throughout the season to make that game feel more real. In addition, each game should not have the same two people calling it all throughout the season. Specifically, for example, afternoon games on Madden that are considered to be many watches should have Tony Romo and Jim NANTZ calling them, because that is the actual duo that provides the soundbite in real-life. For Sunday Night Football games in Madden, we need to have Cris Collinsworth and Mike Tirico calling those games along with Melissa Starks to make the game feel like it's a real Sunday Night Football game. On Monday Night Football games, the crew should be Troy Aikman and Joe Buck for most of the season, but you can swap them out and add Steve Young and Louis Riddick to change up the authenticity so it wouldn't get played out so fast. Along with the different commentary duos for every game, Madden should consider including the commentators by providing possible play-calling suggestions for both the user and computer depending on how the game is being played, and they should have real-life reactions to game winners, interceptions, spectacular catches, touchdowns, and injuries. Finally, I would like to see reporters added and shown in each game and allow them to provide a variety of insights that will change often and throughout every season. For example, if a team is off to a slow start to the season, the reporter before the game should provide our gamers with what they heard from the coach that they spoke to before the game even started. Same thing for the halftime report. The commentary in NFL games is important because it describes exactly what is going on throughout the 60 minutes of play, and it can provide the emotional presence that you need when you make a huge play. I think that this change would be huge and necessary to provide the realness of what an NFL game really feels like and sounds like each season.
