Connected Franchise: Ending a game and getting kicked to main menu on Xbox One

I've had a problem recently where when I finish playing a game in connected franshise and I select the exit game option, Madden will go to the loading screen but then will immediately cut to the  main menu. When this happens I lose any progress I had in the game that I played and have to play it over again. Has anyone else had this problem and is there a solution to it?
