Crashing on launch

I signed up yesterday for premier to play Madden 20. Played yesterday after downloading and everything was working fine, a little choppy in the audio from time to time but all good otherwise. I go to play today and the game wont load. The window opens like it's going to start but then closes and disappears. I made sure my system is up to date, I've cleaned the cashe, the app data and temp files. I've also uninstalled and reinstalled the game 2x and nothing has worked. Any suggestions?

Gotcha. It sounds like there may be something that's blocking the application from launching, be it in the Origin client itself or elsewhere. Have you tried starting up your PC in a Clean Boot before attempting to launch Madden 20? If not, we should give that a shot to see if it helps. If there's something else running that's preventing the game from launching that should help to get around it.

You can find more info on how to set up a Clean Boot check out the EA Help website. Let me know how it goes.

    Hey @dbecker87d508

Are you getting any error messages at all when it crashes? Would you be able to grab a DxDiag for me so I can take a look?

  • No error message. The window opens like game is gonna start and then the window closes and goes back to the origin client window. Just tried to start it up again, thinking it was just a problem the game was having yesterday but it did the same thing again.

Much appreciated! Do you currently have Madden installed on the same storage device as the Origin client itself, or is it saved elsewhere? If it's on another drive, can you try moving it over to the same drive as Origin to see if that helps at all?

Sometimes having Origin on a separate drive from the games in your Library can cause some issues. Let me know if that helps at all.

  • @EA_Kent i had it on the same drive and it still crashed. I moved it to a separate drive to see if it was a memory issue, still crashed. I have multiple games, including Madden 19, on the same drive Madden 20 is on and they all load perfectly. Its just Madden 20 causing problems.
