Which game mode are you getting this error in: Main Menu at loading, gear options, the yard, Face of the franchise not allowing to use my avatar
Have you tried power cycling your console and local network (Yes/No) YES.
Talked to EA_Help on twitter two times already no response yet after 4 days. Then the error after the update…

Two days ago I was stuck on avatar creation screen (with Tom Brady). Now with yesterday´s maintenance that has been fixed and I can create my avatar.
But a new error has appeared that also appeared to myself when I first bought the game.
The error is related to the connexion to EA servers.
"Unable to retrieve your progression information from EA Servers at this time. Please try again later."
The error appears at the main menu, when I try to accees to my madden profile and also in some challenges from ultimate team.
I have my madden mobile account linked to my EA account.

- 5 years ago@EA_Blueberry I'm still having this problem it's been 3 weeks since I bought your game played it for an hour then linked my ps4 to my ea account and it hasn't stopped yet updates are not helping those who can't play
