Summarize your bug I was not able to call for a fair catch on what I think was a squib or short kick. The last second of the clock ran out so it ended the game. I think I should have been able to call for the fair catch since my player caught it in the air.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? I don't know you're EA so I suppose call out to the studio or play a game of madden and do some kick of drills in game or in practice mode in learn to play madden.
What happens when the bug occurs? can't fair catch on short kickoffs
What do you expect to see? I expect to be able to call for a fair catch on short kickoffs/squib kicks that are caught out of the air.

At the end of the game there was one second left to play when my opponent kicked off. I am not certain what type of kick they used but my best guesses are squib kick and or short kick with me leaning towards squib. Regardless my player caught the ball out of the air and was not able to do a time saving fair catch. I tried and I think I was successful in switching to the player to have manual control while the kick off was in the air so I would be able to manually call for the fair catch; I can't be 100% certain though. I know I have been in the past and had this same thing happen to me and to opponents.
In the end the clock ran out because I couldn't fair catch and have the clock not run so I would have 1 last play on offense. I simply ended up giving up and laying down to down the ball but that took one second to do. That is not how the game works in reality at any level.
This happens in all modes of madden I believe.
