I appreciated the explanation and the attempt to make it up to us (I'm being genuine, not sarcastic). However, I don't know that it's enough. The explanation says only 2% of franchises were effected. I have a hard time believing that unless someone created hundreds of thousands of franchises and then did nothing. I had five franchises. Four of them are now gone. The only one that was not deleted is the one that was abandoned because the users quit when they got fed up from the earlier issue where every offseason, we'd get disconnected from the servers for inactivity despite being active and having our progress deleted repeatedly and having the draft continuously jump forward and revert on its own. This means literal weeks of my life were wasted by this event. If it was just the event, okay. But there have been constant issues with the franchise servers for months that have ruined countless franchises.
Also, I'm not at all interested in the closed beta because the final version of the game is buggy as heck, so I can't imagine how the beta is. Additionally, there are numerous bugs we identify and report every year that go unfixed and unaddressed, so it doesn't feel like participating in the beta is going to be enjoyable or fruitful. I'm not trying to be rude or facetious, I'm trying to be genuinely honest as someone who has played Madden since something like Madden 95. All of the criticism that is thrown at EA regarding the rift between franchise fans and EA's MUT focus is thrown for a reason. We aren't just complainy pants that want to take out our daily stress on you and just invent a bunch of stuff to complain about.
With the continuous errors throughout this release and me literally losing all of my franchises that I was playing, really more needs to be done to make it up to us than just 50% off and a closed beta invite because you're still asking us to pay $30 to trust that you'll make it right this time when it hasn't been made right for about 10 years. If you believe in what you're doing to repair the issue, improve our experience, and ensure no other major game breaking issues will occur, you should be putting your money where your mouth is and giving the game for free to people effected. If it really truly was only 2% of all franchises, that's not going to hit your pockets that much and it may save you customers in the long run if you're able to actually prove that you've fixed all the issues. Just my two cents, take it or leave it, but I can tell you I'm probably not buying it next year even for 50% off after everything that has happened this year. Again, just being honest, not trying to be rude.
