I really like how the PS5 version of madden 22 plays for the most part but 2 routes (corner or flag & drag route) almost makes the game unplayable. The problem has existed at least since Madden 18. A corner route shouldn’t work versus cover 3 unless you have 9 route to hold the corner outside. The problem is even worse on the PS5 because they actually play it well until the ball is thrown. Once the ball is released the corner turns and runs away from the ball and by the time you can click on him try and break on the ball, he’s taken himself out of the play completely. The same thing happens on the drag route. The opposing QB can lead the lead route right to the safety or corner but as soon the ball is thrown the defender bails out as if he didn’t see the ball being and thrown. A lot of times the defender is 5-7 yards over the top of the route already so it’s no reason for him to bail like that, never mind that the ball is already in the air. All in all, the other 10 guys have to play football too. I get madden wants to reward users for clicking on guys and making plays themselves but you can only control one person at a time. The other 10 guys have to read and react too!

I was just going to ask when the patch was coming out. But the original poster framed it pretty well. 😬

Zones need to be fixed ASAP people are throwing for 400 yards and 90% every game.

This is jus one example of how embarrassingly bad this game is, did y’all even test it? How could you put this piece of crap out. Been playing for 15 years never seen zone coverages this bad in my life. HELP ASAP

Thanks for the periodic updates. I'm playing on Xbox Series X and the gameplay has been mostly enjoyable; however, can you please fix the User's linebacker's zone and man coverage? This is the biggest issue for me when playing defense, including Cover 3. I play with the 49ers and typically control the D-Line. In zone coverage, my linebackers mostly cover air or are outside of their zone assignments and not tagging a WR/TE, or when they happen to be in a position to make a play on a thrown ball, they don't react and the CPU always catches. I've played about 30-40 games thus far and have zero interceptions with my team's linebackers and maybe 2 deflections from tipped balls. Can't speak for other teams since I've only used the 49ers, but this is unrealistic as Fred Warner is arguably the best cover linebacker in the game, and it's reflected in his zone and man attributes. He matches up well against TE's and even some WRs in real life and it's frustrating getting beat on every coverage in madden. Fred Warner and Dre Greenlaw are great coverage LBs and I can't make any plays with them. I played games last night after the Cover 3 title update, and the coverage seemed even worse to me.This would open up the full defensive playbook if reconciled. Please relay this feedback. Thanks!

it’s been broke since the beta. You guys can patch a training exploit in 2 hours, but you can’t patch zone coverage???!!!???

The ENTIRE community wants this patch! I guess if everyone were buying packs and bundles based on gameplay development, you guys would produce a better game, or if you weren’t a monopoly and held exclusive rights.

why is the zone so damn bad in this game???? Cmon madden we need an update ASAP, so many zone coverages where the corner doesn’t do his responsibility on a guy crossing into his zone, they jus act like he’s not even there. We need some type of update ASAP this game play can’t sustain like this, there’s no way

I’ve seen my outside coverage do this at the goaline in cloud and hard flats. They are allergic to the pylon man. Idk it sucks though
