Help with PS3 system update and freezing/not working (Madden 16 Deluxe Edition)

I had a PS3 system update on 2Jan2016 and now my Madden 16 Deluxe Edition game will not work.  I receive a 'disk error detected' and when restarting the game it freezes and does not work.  None of my other games are affected.  Is anyone else having this issue?

    Please contact your retailer directly to find out what there policy is in this regard, specifically how long after purchase they will replace a damaged disc.

    have you had luck with receiving a replacement game?  Do you think my retailer (walmart) replace my PS3 game?  I purchased this game in Sep 2015.
