Hey, everyone.
I apologize for the lack of responses lately, I had a personal situation with COVID within the family and daycare. Luckily, everyone's okay. I came back for a day in which I had to do various tasks like reporting to multiple studios on what is impacting our community so they're aware of the issues and wasn't able to get around to all game titles for these forums.
I see that the team actually attempted to fix this in a recent update. Based off everyone still asking for updates here I'm under the impression it's still not working.
Can you all confirm the following:
- Can you connect to existing franchises? (yes/no)
- Can you connect to newly created franchises? (yes/no)
With the Super Bowl today I hope you are all watching it as I will be! I'll provide an update for you as soon as I can this week.

I cannot connect to previous franchises
as stated many pages ago, I can connect to a new franchise
Maybe one day this will get fixed. Glad you and yours are recovering from COVID

Once again @EA_Blueberry has pulled a fast one. Four days ago he threw a faint glimmer of hope by wanting information from us, which many of us provided, only for him to remain silent without so much as a "I don't have an update for you, sorry". Nope, keep throwing us the bones to try to keep us at the heels of EA and avoid any follow up...........

I'm not sure what we have over here in this household but I've been dealing with a personal situation myself with family being sick and homeschooling. Let me tell you, working from home with kids learning virtual schooling at a very young age for the first time is not an easy task. I'm quite impressed with the Madden's team work having to manage work life balance throughout this year when facing circumstances I know many have faced. Keep in mind that in order to deliver an amazing product you need pieces from different departments to come together. When people have to start calling out sick due to COVID or have other distractions at home come into play, it can throw off schedules where in the past you were working at a higher efficiency level.
I came back today and unfortunately have to do reporting, attend meetings, and other various tasks before taking more days off. As of right now, there are no new updates. We are continually reaching out to the team and it's still being worked on. Translation - You are so unimportant to EA that you only get one point of contact and there are so many things here at EA that are way, WAY more important than you Madden 18 cry babies...

Has there been any internal discussion about a make-good for this? Some of us have lost hundreds+ of hours and years of commitment to these franchises.

@EA_BlueberrySorry to hear what you're going on at your home. And your first couple of paragraphs would be fine if you were just a mod on a random forum. But you're a paid community interface and if you are going through all of these things then it is best for EA as an employer to give you the time off you need. Which seems to be the case with your new schedule.
However, EA owes it to us as customers to assign another individual who can communicate with us on a more regular basis. They also owe it to us to bring in additional resources to work on this bug if not 24/7, then at least 8 hours a day. We know that they haven't done the former and we're pretty certain they're not doing the latter.
Again, if the franchises are irrevocably lost we deserve to know that as well to not waste our time anymore on these boards, or our money on any future EA games. - 4 years ago
Ill tell you....if in my job we had customers that weren't getting answered and i was the customer service person responsible and just disappeared for days on end to only periodically post a useless update with no info, i would get fired. No one is here to learn about your personal life...no one received this game for free...we arent all buddies, we paid your company for a product and the product isnt working due to something your company did. You have blocked all attempts to get management involved or provide members with a structured and detailed update. Its no been two months! This is beyond ridiculous so stop the lies and get someone involved that knows whats going on and get this fixed.

@ThorVader it's a mystery now because where ever you talk to EA no one as any answer apart from it's being looked into and when you try to complain about service on here they can't comment or that's not their department it's all one big joke now

It is absolutely amazing how often we get ghosted in this thread. They’re for sure just hoping we forget about it and go away. Nevermind some of us have franchises we’ve been playing with friends as a way to keep in touch for 3 years. Terrible way to encourage me to go back to buying games. Stopped buying after 18 because of the changes to franchise mode...and what’s the point of buying another one if they can flip a switch and ruin it and then not tell you what happened and leave you hanging?

The last update I see is from yesterday on how it's still under investigation. To set proper expectations, the team was unable to recover existing franchises for a similar issue for Madden NFL 21 and those impacted were granted compensation. This is not to say this will be the outcome for this one, but in terms of an exact time-frame on when you'll be able to jump back in with your buddies I don't have one right now. I recommend creating a new Franchise until further announcements from our side. I will let you all know when I hear more information on this ASAP. I will have to focus on other titles this week, some I typically don't work to help make up for those being impacted by the weather in the area. Moving forward, I'll respond back again to this thread when I hear more substance on the issue.

It sucks that we all knew this was the case the whole time. An update somewhere wiped all the servers for the cloud franchises and they couldn’t recover them. What a gong show.

We all know something like this would have never happened with Ultimate Team. Can’t believe I’ve wasted 2 months coming to this thread almost every day

At what point did this issue with M21 occur? If it was prior to December, why weren't expectations set 2 months ago instead of now?
So EA knows, its not so easy to just "start a new franchise" when you have thousands of hours in. I would imagine there is very little desire to start a new Franchise on M18 or any future Madden game from any of the users on this board. - 4 years ago
Although the writing has been on the wall for a couple months, it’s a bummer to hear to hours of work put into my franchise are gone.
In the meantime, I’ve been enjoying NBA 2k21 and I look forward to 2k putting out an NFL game this year. I will never purchase from EA again.
Shame on EA and Blueberry for not owning up to their error and giving worse customer service than Verizon or Comcast - that isn’t easy to do. Y’all must work hard at being bad at your jobs.

So we all know we aren't going to get anymore details here. They aren't going to tell us what happened, they aren't going to tell us when. Simply put they don't care and for Blueberry to basically say just shut up and start a new franchise that will fix it shows a basic disconnect with him/herself and the users. They are basically just going to just hope we all go away or throw you a 5 buck in game credit to the new version because at the end of the day it is blatantly obvious they don't care about 20ish vocal users of a 4 year old game, they made their money on us. We can hope someone in customer service or management is monitoring this...but again i wouldnt hold my breath. We ALL learned a valuable lesson here. Madden has a shelf life and much like apple with iPhones they are going to say "you know what, that version is old and we need to make money off the new one so the heck with you guys" Shame on you EA sports and shame on you Blueberry for thinking we are stupid enough to believe that after two months a software company doesn't know whats wrong with a game they made or how to fix it.
