Wow so I was so stoked tonight when I saw there was an update for madden and that the notes said they fixed bug issues. Figured they fixed this stupid bug where I can’t even play this game bc of it. But nope I was wrong. It still freaking froze and kicked me out. EA FREAKING SUCKS. FIX YOUR DAMN GAME!

I'm in my second year of dealing with this. Last year it happened during the February update and this year it happened during the January update. Since you can't complete Solo Battles, it makes MUT worthless. I tried to switch to becoming a franchise user so I could at least enjoy part of the game, but gameplay freezes would send me back to the dashboard.
I did full resets of my Xbox several times and I never could finish a full game in MUT or Franchise. It seemed to occurred around 5-7 minutes into gameplay. Every time I went through EA support, they would make me do the same troubleshooting steps and wouldn't listen when I told them that this was my 7th time trying. I've owned every Madden since 2008 but two years in a row it's stopped working and my $60 plus $500 in MUT purchases have been wasted the last two years.

Does it give you an error when it dashboards? Sounds frustrating indeed. Can you answer some basic questions for me so we can pinpoint what's causing this:
- Have you reinstalled the game
- Not ideal and I'm not asking you to do it, but have you tried a factory reset of the console
- Do you have your console plugged directly into an outlet or surge protector
- Do you experience this issue if you plug the power into a different outlet
- What power settings do you have on your Xbox
- Do you have anything plugged into the USB slot, such as a controller charging dock or guitar hero dongle? Third party devices have been known to cause compatibility issues with some games
- Does it freeze if you're able to play it on a different Gamertag (gameshare) to see if it's account based

I am having a similar issue. It crashes on the splash screen. The game never loads. I have reinstalled the game. It is a digital download. I have power cycled. Changed the DNS. Cleared the MAC address. Nothing has worked. This is unacceptable. The game costs $60 and not to mention the hundreds of dollars spent on upgrades. This needs to be fixed or I would like ALL my money back.

Thank you for letting me know what steps you've already tried, that makes troubleshooting a lot easier so we know where to go next. Completely understand where you're coming from so I want to help get you back onto the field as quickly as possible.
Do you have an external hard drive or anything else plugged into your USB slot? (controller charging dock, guitar hero dongle, etc.) - 6 years ago
Yeah I’ve talked to so many people about this and done everything they have asked me. Spoke to 5 different people through EA and nothing has ever fixed the situation. Unfortunately there isn’t any solution. I changed the ports as they asked me which helped for a day and then it went back to kicking me out each time. It’s a complete joke.

You've cleared the game saved data right?
I've seen players find success after changing the DNS on their console to either Google's or Cloudflare's. Does the game crash on you if you set your console to the home console and play under a different Gamertag, this way we can determine if it's account based? - 6 years ago
I’ve done all that several times. Only thing left for EA is to issue refunds.

I'm sorry all the steps we tried didn't work out. We can keep going if you're up to the challenge. Refunds must be processed by the retailer in which you purchased the game from, but at this point I feel like the best way to get this fixed is to have someone take a deeper look at the account and through advanced troubleshooting.
