This is happening to me too. How do you fix it? I have tried to play games in head to head season but every time I get to the beginning of the game it says lost connection to your opponent.

We've alerted the team about this and we'll need to gather some quick details to aide them. Please reply back with the following:
- Gamertag/PSN ID
- Platform you play on (XB1/PS4/PS5/XB1S/X)
- When you attempt to matchmake what error do you get?
- Are you able to successfully play after restarting the game?

When trying to play an online head to head game I get a message saying “FAILED TO START GAME” ...this happens for about 3-5 try’s before I restart the game and console to still have the same problem. Idk what’s going on but this is very frustrating . PLEASE FIX THIS ....I NEED MY ULTIMATE TEAM

This post is related to Online H2H (not MUT). I recommend going to your roster and set it to BEST OVR with the lineup tool, then try again. IF that fails, please search for an existing thread on what you're experiencing so we can jump into that one with you.

Have you tried setting your lineup to BEST OVR with the lineup tool and then tried matchmaking? If that doesn't work, power cycle your console and network.
Try rebooting your network and power cycle the console.
Reboot the power to the modem/router
- Unplug the power cable from your modem/router for 5-10 minutes to refresh the network.
How to power cycle your PS4 console
- Touch the power button on the front of the PS4 for at least 7 seconds (until the system beeps twice).
- Turn it back on after 1 minute. Launch the game.
How to power cycle your Xbox console:
- Turn off the Xbox One console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds until it shuts down completely.
- Unplug the console’s power cable. Wait 10 seconds.
Important Be sure to wait 10 seconds. This step resets the power supply.
- Plug the console power cable back in.
- Press the Xbox button on your console to turn on the Xbox One.

My gamer tag is Yktv__nick and when ever I go to play online head to head the timer to get into a game keeps running or I get a failure to connect and I can’t play any online features

@thatsavage3214 Would you mind providing us your Gamertag/PSN ID and clarify what platform you play on? The team is looking for more account examples to narrow down the root cause.
- 5 years ago@EA_Blueberry I'm having the same issue. I just started getting this issue after the last update. Gamertag is bigdvikesxl. I'm hardlined and all other ea games work fine.

Hello EA Manager,
I am so frustrated with this year's game due to the fact that when i play h2h, the game briefly pauses and an error appears on screen reading: "Connection to peer has been lost". I literally have done EVERYTHING in the book . I have unplugged everything, reset my modem, I bought an ethernet cable, deleted the reserved space, and NOTHING WORKS! What can you guys do to fix this problem?

Do you have a PC/laptop so a UO Trace can be ran? This way we can see how your connection is reaching our servers. Any way you can run the trace route in the same location as your console and direct message me a screenshot of the results? I'd like to see if there is any packet loss and wide ping variance.
