MADDEN 22/HEAD COACH 09

I would like Colin & his team personally to put a considerable amount of time into EA Sports Head Coach 2009. This is an EA game that in my opinion, and I feel many others would also strongly agree, is far superior to Madden 21. I believe the team putting time into studying this game could be a massive improvement to Madden 22. We all know Madden franchise community is due for a MASSIVE overhaul. I believe this could be the proper direction. Please Colin, give this a chance and form your own opinions.

  • @Kabma I believe every aspect of the team building is superior. The trades are more realistic. Picking your playbook and having to match schemes to fit that playbook. When you choose a certain scheme for a position group their ratings change as to how they fit that system (Example: Ted Ginn Jr set as a speed receiver is an 86 OVR, switch the scheme to “balanced” and he drops to a 68 OVR because he was very fast but not very good anywhere else) I had to learn more about football to actually effectively play this game. You have every positional coach and coordinators on your staff that all have very in depth skill trees. You have to negotiate rookie deals where they counter offer and will hold out of training camp/offseason. You actually have to struggle with cap space. I was fired twice for playing the game as I would madden.

@JakeLaRose24 Also, there’s a thing called “the 50” where there are 50 pre made rookies that have special qualities. Somewhat of an “Easter egg” Retired players can become coaches/gms

@JakeLaRose24 Have you tried the franchise mode? Sounds pretty similar to various components under the franchise mode of Madden.

You should play a few seasons in franchise and see what you think.
  • @Kabma Lol. That is all I have to say to that. I have played countless hours of Madden from 08-21. The game has done nothing but regress. You have a .2 user score. The community is not happy. Especially the franchise community. Answers like this is why your game has not progressed in years. The game has a very of these features and they are very shallow. The trading system is absolute garbage. I routinely run 3-4 style DE/LB in 4-3 systems with no penalty. You do not even have coordinators let alone positional coaches. Contract negotiations are not even something that is considered because it is the same thing every single time. I would suggest YOU go try the franchise mode in each of these games. If you know the first thing about football you will see HC2009 is superior in every aspect of the game other than graphics. The lack of work that the producers of a AAA title are willing to put in absolutely amazes me. The fact nobody is willing to go out some time into this game and they’d rather tell me to go play the absolute garbage franchise mode in Madden 21. I have madden 21 for the PS5. Haven’t played in over a month because I’ve been playing my Xbox 360 that has better EA titles on it. If you want to impress your community, a complete overhaul is what is needed. Take a year off for all we care. We need a new game. I play madden 25 and use the same relocation teams.

This is the only kind of answer you are gunna get man, they genuinely dont give a *. LIKE GENUINELY they don't care at all. Next year madden 22 will be out, and it will be exactly the same. with some new gimmicky game mode to try and trick us into believing they did something new and innovative. but it will be the exact same madden, except worse because thats all they have done since madden 12, get worse and worse until hopefully the NFL drops EA and lets someone else try and make a decent game for once. Sad thing is, we are going to buy it, and i really from the bottom of my heart think they actually laugh at us complaining, its not hyperbole they actually do not care. they make the same amount of money if not more every year and the player base grows because the NFL and gaming grows, and they are just going to use that arbitrary number of "more players are playing tho" to justify they're * game. yeah more players are playing because gaming is more popular than ever and so is the NFL and noone else can make a football game. not because your game is good. but honestly dont waste your breathe, they really dont give a flying * about the paying customer.

  • I think the fact that a game that came out 11 years ago has the same components (it doesn't) as a game in 21 should honestly tell you something about the current franchise mode. even if they were EXACTLY the same, the fact that a game that came out 11 freaking years ago has a similar franchise mode to madden 21 (it doesn't) is embarrassing as hell. you realize in 2009 the iphone 3 was out....the IPHONE 3. let that sink in.

  • @Sabreu1989 Hahah absolutely brother! I know I for one will not be buying the game! Haven’t touched Madden 21 in a month @ least. I know many others in the same boat. I’ve convinced a few to buy HC09 actually! Now we wait for 2k football games releasing this year. Should be superior to madden.
