Madden 23 Won't Launch

My friend is having this issue. We are currently waiting on him to advance our franchise. But yes, he did have ea play and has expired.

I'm having the same issue and I have a subscription

@EA_Barry I’ve never had an EA subscription. Currently trying to play the game via Steam and never used the EA launcher until downloading Madden 23. 

I don’t have ea play I did few years ago. I’ve had madden from day one pre ordered it never had issues until yesterday now I can’t play on ps5 I buy packs for MUT all the time wish I could play cause imma lose out on LTD cards and the CFP player if I can’t play all week

@EA_Barry I have never had an ea play subscription i purchased the game a few days ago and was able to play normally till yesterday.

@EA_Barry ... I've never had a EA subscription to my knowledge.  This just started yesterday for me.  I was playing fine the day before.  

I found what I hope is a workaround which is to disable internet on my ps5, open madden, hit ok on the warning about not being logged in and it actually loads the game fine this way.  Then I will minimize Madden 23, re-enable internet in the ps5 settings, then go back into madden and hit R2 to log into EA.  It logs in fine.  What I don't know yet is if all online services works and function normally.

I haven’t had a subscription in over a year.

This is definitely account related.  Again, my son's works on the same PS5 that I experience the issue.  He has his own PS5 account and EA acct.  

I saw someone else mention unlinking the ps5 and ea accts and creating a new ea account or something.  I don't want to lose my online stats or anything.  I'm hoping this helps someone or helps EA help us.

Hey everyone!... I believe the issue is fixed. 

I saw I had a Madden update.  I tried it just moment ago and it worked.  

@DougDude I’ll check back in a few hours to see if it’s resolved on PC. Hopefully it is I’m yet to even get the game to load past the EA launcher. 

I started the game today, there was an update via Steam, and now it works.

Thank you to EA Barry, the thread creator, and everybody that contributed. I hope you all have the same success.

@EA_Barry Thread creator here, unfortunately after updating Madden with the newest patch the game still does not launch. When attempt to start the game from Steam or the EA app the EA app appears, crashes and tries to reopen without launching the game. 

Anything else I can do to troubleshoot this?

I think your CPU is below the min spec. 

Compare yours to the minimum below, specifically regarding the AVX/AVX2 extensions.

Game still does not launch / immediate crash after EA application loads. Starting from EA instead of Steam does the same thing.

Hit play button, game will start to launch, the Link2EA popup will appear, and the EA app crashes and restarts without starting Madden 23.

I have the same issue; launch the game, Link2EA pop-ups, game never launches, and eventually returns to launcher. I had learned my lesson with Madden years ago and haven't touched Madden since 2003, but out of respect and appreciate for John Madden the man; I figured this was the ONE to give  a shot. What a disappointment. Shameful of EA to tie their uninspired and broken software to this mans legacy.  It would be less trouble, and yield a more enjoyable game to hack the code of Madden 94 and update the roster to 2023 players then try and figure out why this pos won't run. 

I downloaded the game via Gamepass on my Xbox and everything worked fine until last night. All of a sudden, last night, I could no longer get past the loading bar. It would stop about 75% of the way and get stuck there. 

I tried this on each of my Xbox’s which were previously working and they all had the same issue. I logged out and in, restarted, uninstalled and reinstalled, but nothing has fixed this. 

I would love to play again. Any help would be appreciated. 

I think gamepass recreated the issue. I dont think it’s a coincidence people are locked out again after m23 was added to ea play. This is some issue connecting to ea servers. Can someone man up server side and find a real fix for this issue. I’ve reinstalled, opened nat, reset ea password, changed ea email to match xbox, set dns, cleared cache, esd the xbox, used cellular data instead, and removed my gamertag. The game isnt prompting me anything. When I reinstalled last night i was getting unknown login error when trying to get in mut. So these are connected. Now im back at play like mad.

I agree it is 100% when they added madden to gamepass. I bought this game back in august and had no issues with it until the day it launched on gamepass. Even more proof to this is I bought it the other night on PS5 and it worked fine. I am using the same EA account for both PS5 and Xbox (linked to each one). EA needs to fix this because some of us paid a bunch of money when this game came out and bought MUT items and now cannot play it. Pretty surprised it has taken this thread to tell EA where the problem is. Guessing it might be related to any of us who had EA play before it was rolled into Gamepass. 

I have fixed the issue guys. I unenrolled from xbox beta testing and did a clean reset where everything is taken off the device. 

This worked for me, thanks brother. Months of issues fixed.  @PapaJJ558
