As of March 2023, this still isn’t fixed on Xbox series X. Lost two franchises seemingly at random over the last few weeks.
Same issue others have described: Random crash to Home Screen when finishing a game, then unable to load save upon restart. Incredibly frustrating.
Happened the first time around 2027, second time around 2031. Both late season games right before playoffs.
I am using some custom draft classes. Does anybody know if the custom draft classes are actually somehow related? The randomly generated draft classes often aren’t that good in my opinion. But, if not using custom ones would ensure this doesn’t happen again, I would forego them.
I'm on PS5, in franchise season 9, NOT using custom draft classes and everything is fine so far. It seems that custom draft classes is the problem.

I'm pretty sure custom draft classes is not the underlying problem, although it will make the problem occur sooner (after around five years instead of after around nine).
The reason it works for you is they fixed the issue on PS5. For some reason the issue wasn't fixed on Xbox. If this kind of crap persists on Madden 24, the NFL better break their contract with EA. This is so ridiculous! I had a total of $120 stolen from me by EA for Madden 21 and 22. I refused to buy it this past year because I knew they didn’t have the knowledge and the give a damn to put out a game that works. I figured EA had stolen enough of my money. The NFL is always wanting to protect the shield. I’m kind of surprised they have let this drag on for as long as it has.
This isn’t an acceptable solution because you shouldn’t have to fork over more money to EA for their screw up.
If you have a PC capable of playing this game you can download a tool from the Madden Modding Community that you’ll have to run twice per year that empties some sort of table that causes this issue.Once again, it’s not acceptable that they haven’t fixed this issue in three Maddens now (and it’ll likely be there in 24), but just wanted to provide a temporary solution to those who still enjoy playing this game.

I switched to online franchise for M23 and I’ll never go back after years of just doing offline - this issue will never be fixed on offline.
Found no issues at all with connectivity etc. & the v odd time it drops during a game it saves the moment before and you can just reload at the same point.
I’d recommend changing to online franchise, and I was a diehard offline only guy before this.It’s January 2024….This has happened to me a few times the last few Madden’s, on both online AND offline, it just did it again just now, I was like 10 seasons deep on an offline franchise mode…..Had everything set up just how I wanted it, I had the Eagles…Idk what the issue is, I’ve been using an Xbox One the past damn near 10 years, like 2 or 3 different ones
Just to continue this thread. I have been playing offline franchise on Madden for years on PS4. My experiments indicate that the bug occurs a few seasons earlier if you use custom draft classes. But Yes, it happens every time and is still present in Madden 24. Does moving to PS5 solve the issue? Someone seemed to indicate that. I will also give a try to the idea of simming after week 14 every season and just play the early season games. Thanks all for any other ideas or information.
