Online CFM Glitch - Player gets an error message and boots him from game.

Summarize your bug I'm in the 3rd season, week 1 in an online league. Every time the guy I'm playing tries to join the game, he gets an error message and it kicks him at the start. We are able to play in other leagues completely normally. In fact, two nights in a row we tried playing each other right after we had finished games in other leagues that had no issues (leagues that we are also in together). He also has a PS5 and I have a PS4, but we are both playing on the PS4 version and have been in this league together since it started. We also played each other in season 1 in this league with no issues, and we recently played each other in another league with no issues.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Search for a game in an online franchise I guess.
What happens when the bug occurs? The guy I'm playing against gets kicked from the app on his side completely. He also gets an error message, which I have detailed below.
What do you expect to see? We want us to know if this is a persistent issue that will follow us through the league or if our game specifically is bugged.

If you can't see the photo, the error code is CE-108255-1, which suggest powering down AND reinstalling the game (which we tried)

Here are some of the things we have tried:

-Searching at the same time

-Resetting the app and then searching

-Searching but not joining until an invite is sent to the other person. We tried that both ways.

-Power cycling (turning off the system, unplugging for 30+ seconds and then rebooting)

-Leaving the systems unplugged overnight

-Deleting and then reinstalling Madden 21 and then trying
