Summarize your bug Players gain dev traits from end of year awards then immediately lose them for no apparent reason. Players losing dev traits seems overly harsh.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Play a couple of seasons and observe players' dev traits after End of Year awards are given out, then check them again the next week in Staff Week to see if they've gained and lost a dev trait in the span of 1 week.
What happens when the bug occurs? Players dev traits decline at the end of the year for no apparent reason sometimes. My "Kicker of the Year" gained Star dev in End of Year awards, then immediately regressed to Normal Dev in Staff Week. Depth rookies with hidden or Star Dev should be protected from losing their trait their first season(s); it feels harsh when a depth rookie you're trying to develop drops to Normal dev because he didn't play that much year 1.
What do you expect to see? Players should keep the awards they are given, at least for a season if not longer. Losing a dev trait upgrade within one week of earning it is absurd. It would also be nice if rookies aren't punished for playing in depth roles for their first season or two, having their dev traits protected from regression for a certain amount of time - this is something you could look to address with expanded player Tags, such as "Future 1st Teamer" protecting players from dev trait regression until a certain age.

Players who gain and lose a dev trait within one week of gaining it has to be a bug, right? I just had the Kicker of the Year awarded a Star Dev trait and due to his End of Year award, then regress immediately to Normal dev in Staff Week, effectively losing his trait the same week he earned it. Players who are awarded dev traits should be protected from losing them for at least a year.
Along those lines, it is disappointing when rookie players with hidden dev traits regress at the end of their first year. It's very common in the NFL for young players to play reduced roles their rookie year, then make big jumps when they're promoted to full-time starters in year two or beyond. Rookies should be protected from dev trait regression, imo. You could take that a step further and enhance or create Player tags, such as adding "player is protected from dev trait regression" to the Future 1st Teamer Tag as long as he has the tag. That would simulate promising youngsters developing behind better veterans much more realistically than the current system.
