Please help me understand the bias against PC players in MCS

Why are console players alone (and only those with the latest models) permitted to take part in MCS? Why does there appear to be a bias against PC users? Mind you, I'm grateful that EA at least creates a PC version again, given that they chose not to for like a decade and a half. I won't claim to be a fantastic player, but at the same time, what kind of measuring stick do I have besides playing against random people in H2H mode? I don't have many friends who play Madden - most folks I know are more inclined towards FPS games or other game types. I do my best to develop a good team in MUT, and I do my best to test myself in Solo games.

I tried to play in the MCS the other day. After doing my best to slog through the TLDR experience that is the user agreement, I tried playing on the XBox side, as the controller I use is that type. After going through the registration and getting paired, I tried to add the opposing player to my friend's list (which he indicated he'd already done for me), but his name never showed up in my list for me to add him and start the game. After a few minutes a Battlefy moderator came in to see what was the matter. The other player asked if someone could play with the XBox One console, which the moderator tersely indicated that only the latest generation XBox consoles could participate - which seems to discriminate against those players who can't go out and buy the latest console on a whim. I then asked if a PC user with an XBox controller could play, to which the moderator replied with an equally terse negative answer. I think the moderator then indicated I was banned from play for some reason, as though I were trying to employ some kind of cheat! I just wanted a chance to see where I stand, and I honestly didn't expect to win a single game - I just wanted the experience.

I have loyally bought the PC game from '21 to the present, and I even doled out the extra cash for the deluxe version this year for the little extras and the 3 days of pre-release play. Why do I once again have the feeling that PC players are treated like second-class citizens amongst the Madden faithful? EA certainly isn't shy about upping the ante for microtransactions, but going the next mile to serve the PC player market appears to be anathema (to EA) from where I'm at.

I'd like to be proven wrong, but after this experience I'm not expecting it any time soon.

  • @Stone1_and_only Dude, just give up like I have. EA obviously could care less about its PC gamer community. They couldn't even give us the 'next gen' version of the game. PC users have literally paid $60+ dollars every year for roster updates. They are just taking advantage of us loyal madden PC gamers for added sales until they ultimately switch to 'next gen' consoles only, in which, they probably will stop releasing the game on PC all together. I hope I'm wrong, but just look at the outcry of PC gamers to EA in recent months leading up to this release, and they have just ignored us as a gaming community all together.
