Summarize your bug Sometimes when I try to snap the ball, the screen gets locked on the player rating icon during presnap and I can’t make an audible or snap the ball. Same thing happens on defense, except it does not allow me to switch players or make defensive audibles. The bug only seems to occur when I am using a wired controller, which doesn’t make sense to me considering the controller is in good condition. When I use a wireless controller, the bug rarely occurs, which makes absolutely no sense to me. The only way I can snap the ball of switch players when this occurs is if I mash the buttons on my controller, which somehow reversed the issue? This has been an extremely frustrating and annoying issue that I’ve been having and I am in need of desperate help.
How often does the bug occur? Occasionally (10% - 49%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Simply load up a game and try to snap the ball.
What happens when the bug occurs? The player rating screen shows up in the presnap menu. (The menu that shows fatigue and etc.) When this occurs, I can’t snap or audible.
What do you expect to see? Similar to previously described

    Can you try checking for updates on the controller under your Xbox Settings? 

    Is there any way you can record a clip of this happening and link the video to us here? This way we can see what is visually going on.

    I just encountered the same issue. I have an amazon basics (off brand) xbox controller. However, I have tried a stock controller as well and no luck. 

    I am on PC and have uninstalled Origin, and Madden and tried moving them around to different drives with no luck. 

    Here is a clip of what it looks like. 

    Another note, I downloaded the Xbox Accessories App and it let me change my button mapping. I made it to where the two trigger inputs were swapped. 

    This caused the "Stall" when i want to snap the ball, to instead show the play art, and player stamina stats (as if i was holding down the Left trigger, instead of the Right trigger, which shows the X factors).  (i did not do that in this clip though). 

    It seems that the error occurring is just a constant input of the right trigger. PLEASE HELP as the game is UNPLAYABLE.

    Same issue. I can select everything pre play and then nothing works after, either defense or offense. Can't snap the ball on offense nor can I switch players on defense. Call a timeout and run into the same issue each time. Kickoffs are fine (can use A to kickoff), but nothing works after that. I thought maybe it was the controller, but COD and other games work fine. Frustrating!!!!!!!!

    This says solved. I don't see a solution.  I have both Madden 20 and 21 on Xbox and I can't play either because I can't hike the ball.  Tried multiple controllers.  Tried hard reset.  

    Hot garbage.

    The original poster solved their post, which was a controller issue from their side.

    I have one of the newer generation Microsoft controllers for the XBOX One.  I didn't realize that they were a bit different until I tried to fit an add-on to it, and the grips were different. I have 3 of them and tried them all.
