- ApprovedAnonymous9 years agoI have the same problem, but I've played games with a custom playbook. I actually haven't played a game without a custom play oak. I think I've managed to play 4 games out of 40 tries.
i have played 3 out of 4 games using my team specific playbook..i dont understand how a playbook kicks someone off the internet!
- ApprovedAnonymous9 years agoCox is my ISP. Do any of you guys have different ISP's? Just trying to see if any of us have anything in common besides not being able to play online (which is mostly why I bought the game).
i have Cox but every since i have been playing with the specific playbook i havent been kicked off but once!

- ApprovedAnonymous9 years agoThe people at EA have been helpful, but they clearly have no idea what the problem is. I've never had an online game kick me off like this. Not even NBA2K which has the worst servers ever.
well thats good they are helping you. all they told me was its the internets fault. i gave up on them.. i wonder when they will be updating their system so everybody can play!

I have Cox cable also.
Update: I'm having continued success playing the whole game with my team specific playbook... I have not been able to play with any other playbook, custom or another team.
Over the next few days, in an effort to help pinpoint the issue - which may somehow be a combination of Cox Cable and our playbook choices - I'm going to take a systematic troubleshooting approach. I'm going to attempt to play a series of games:
- Build a custom playbook starting with my team specific playbooks.
- Try to play with a team specific playbook on offense OR defense (but not both).
- Play with any team playbook except my team's
I'll also check the ISP of the other people from other websites that are having a similar problem to see if it is indeed isolated to Cox Cable customers.
I'll send updates over the next couple days.

thanks, i was able to play about 4 games and i was kicked off of 2 but i realized it was the other persons internet that kicked me off because i recieved a win once i got disconnected. Im assuming more people are begining to have this problem!!
- ApprovedAnonymous9 years agoSame ISP. Same issue with Madden 16 when it first came out. Opened the ports mentioned in a previous link, but they don't work for Madden 17 for some reason.

Is Cox your ISP, if not then which one is?
Can you play when using default playbook?
Can you not play with custom playbooks?

the only playbook i can use is the team specific playbook which in my case the Panthers. I had customized my playbook and saved it the tuesday the game came out and i hadnt been able to get online to play a game until it was brought up yesterday to try the team specific playbook. The only time i get kicked off now is from the other player because i recieve a win now instead of a L.
you got kicked of but was it from you or your peer. U have to see if you recieved a win or lost. I got kicked off twice but i received a win in both situations so that meant the other person mustve had a custom playbook.
hey i want to help, i can try to do some of those things if you would like some assistance. I dont do anything all day anyway!
yooooo maddenuniversity i changed my audibles in the game im playing now. i erased all the custom panther stuff and i just put in a different name for it. I only did the offense and i left the defense as team specific!!

Same issues and I have Cox internet too. It is not the internet, I have had COX guys out twice already and made them give me a new router just in case. When I get kicked I am always still connected to the internet and it even returns me to the Head to head hub which is connected to the EA servers....I dont get it

COX is my ISP and playbooks do not matter. There are random connections that work (which has been like 1/5 for me) but most do not.
COX ran diagnostics on my network, the channel, the strength, and found nothing. Both wired and wireless connections fail in game.

I appreciate all of the help and effort so far...but in all actuality, we shouldn't be having to jump through these hoops just to play a game that we payed for.
- ApprovedAnonymous9 years agoCox isn't the issue. I play (or at least try to) in a league that has multiple users that have Cox as their ISPs and I'm the only one with this issue. The port forwarding worked for '16, but has no effect on '17. Playing games is extremely spotty (basically like throwing darts. Only bulls eyes gets me a full game and I'm terrible at darts lol)

@EA_Barry If one of the new features is "improved" online play, why the heck is everyone getting popup "Connection to peer has been lost"? It can't be the internet because it only happens on Madden 17. Went back to Madden 16 and the problem does not happen. It has to be too much people on the server? Would like an explanation on this "improved" online play.

I am having the same exact issue. I have gone through every single home remedy possible which includes; the purchase of a new router, an upgrade to my cox high speed internet, and the allowing of port forwarding on my router... Everything .... I have yet to get through an entire game of H2H online, its pathetic. My record is 3-5 and I haven't finished a single game. At first I was getting the wins, but have lost the last 5 games because of this *. I just want to play madden H2H online without seeing that dreaded message " The connection to peer has been lost". . I've done all I can do..EA now needs to get its rear in gear and do all they can to fix this because its unacceptable for the price I pay every year for this game, its now a known issue, and I've ruled out all connectivity issues on my end.
