Re: controller icon is stuck in the middle when trying to select my team

i can’t play any games in online franchise or receive any franchise invites. Whenever I try to play a game in an online franchise my controller is placed in the middle of the two teams and it says “controller select” at the top right. It obviously should just put me on my team but I can’t move the controller or hit accept I can only back out of the menu.

    I am having the same issue. Whenever I try to play online Franchise or any games in Face of the Franchise the game will get stuck at the controller select screen with the controller in the middle. So all I can do is go back to the menu. In Superstar KO and The Yard those modes won't even load at all just get stuck at the loading screen. Then in MUT the solo challenges won't give me rewards for completing solos or I will get an error about how the previous game is under review and to try again in 1 minute. Which I do, and it still doesn't give me credit for completing the solos. Basically the only modes in the game that are working for me are offline Franchise and Play Now. Very disappointed in this game so far as 80% I can't even play if I wanted to. I am playing on Xbox One and Xbox Series S.

    I think this has something to do with your linked account. Because I wasn’t experiencing this bug until I checked my backup account saw that my rewards were linked to that account too. So I traded me a powerup to my main and now this bug doesn’t let me start franchise games, play mut squads or see my rank on any leaderboards. Sometimes I combat the bug by just starting up fifa 21 and then going back into madden 22 after fifa fully loaded. But this doesn’t always work.

    An account related issue is what it seems to be related to. At first glance I'm already seeing others with multiple Xbox or PlayStation IDs attached to a single EA account. There should only be one PSN ID and Xbox Gamertag assigned to an account.

    You are able to un-link accounts yourself, however you'll want to read the stipulations when doing so in this article below:

    Upon un-linking your secondary Gamertag/PSN ID, we've seen that it will not be fully fixed until you attach that Gamertag/PSN ID to a new EA account. In order to do this, please sign out of your account at Help.EA.com and sign back in with the PlayStation Network/Microsoft option. You'll want to use the email address you have registered to the PlayStation/Microsoft account for that secondary PSN ID.

    To check and see if you have two Gamertags/PSN ID's linked to your EA account, visit profile.ea.com and visit Connections at the bottom.

    @EA_Blueberry I’ve had multiple gamertags linked to my ea account for over 5 years now so the kids can play too on their accounts. All of the sudden that’s the cause for the whole game not working? Also EA only allows one account to be unlinked every 6 months. So it sounds like to me, EA implemented some sort of safeguard to prevent people with multiple linked Xbox and PSN names to one EA account to play the game to prevent “farming” and coin transfers so it gives them a better shot at making millions from people buying packs. So first, why would you all allow people to link several accounts in the first place? And why not change the absolutely terrible policy of only allowing one account to be unlinked every 6 months? This is so ridiculous. OVER A MONTH AFTER THE GAME HAS BEEN RELEASED AND NONE OF THE GAME MODES EVEN WORK.

    @rickysteve40 I dont see how there aren't any lawsuits against these companies they make you pay $60-$100 for a game that doesn't work and then don't do anything about it but they sure will release weekly updates for cosmetic supply boxes and uniforms. If you release a game that doesn't work how about they have to refund and we get to keep the game for free

    I tried to unlink all accounts attached to my EA and it isn’t letting me unlink my PSN accounts also is this because I have more than one PlayStation playing the same account if so how do I start franchises on system hard drive instead of the cloud

    Did you sync up the Gamertag/PSN ID that you removed from the account to a new EA account?

    I've seen this issue resolved when the account being removed is able to be added to a new EA account. Are you saying you don't have access to that Gamertag/PSN ID that was removed?

    No I still access to the PSN account I wouldn’t be able to reconnect the psn to the unlinked ea account  for 45 days and all I still see is this and the controller won’t move over to my team

    Thanks. I'm asking this because when a PSN ID is removed from the EA account (assuming here you had more than 2+ PSN ID's/Gamertags linked to), we've seen players still get stuck when selecting a team until they attach the removed PSN ID to a new EA account with a different email address. I was hoping you have access to the email address associated to the PlayStation account that has that PSN ID, then log into Help.EA.com using the PlayStation Network login option to sync it up to a new EA account. We've seen others on these forums claim it works after that step was done.

    Ok so help me by telling me if I’m understanding this correctly create a new ea account and attach it to my psn account by signing up with the psn login and lose all my account history from my old email address

    Can someone explain how to fix this issue?  I had two cgamertags linked to my account.  I unlinked one and got it to work—for one night.  Now it doesn’t work again.

    @afreed29 

    Can you try logging into Help.EA.com with the Microsoft credentials for the Gamertag you removed (When you sign out of Help.EA.com and get the option to sign back up, there will be an Xbox and PlayStation option at the bottom of the login menu. Use the Xbox login).

    When you login with the Microsoft credentials for that Gamertag it should prompt you to create an EA account because it's being assigned to one. You'll want to use a new email address for that account. 

    Once this is done, can you let me know if you are able to select a team in game?
