Possible workaround – I saw another thread where someone having a similar issue was told by EA support to try turning off account verification on their EA account as a workaround. I tried it, and it seems to have solved the problem for now. Give it a shot if you’re still having issues connecting to the EA servers.

For anyone looking to try this, you need to go to myaccount.ea.com -> security -> then turn off login verification
I will mark resolved but we should not have to turn off an account security feature to log in to the game
I agree - not an ideal solution. But it sounds like EA is at least aware of the problem, so hopefully they get account verification working again soon.
