Re: Madden Keeps Losing Connection To Opponent!

@treexel

I'm not sure what you mean by "eero close". If you mean you're close to the router, I recommend using an ethernet cable instead of a wireless connection.

@DW14

If you are on wireless as well, please try switching to a wired connection.

  • Seems like the conversation stopped. I wonder if his problem has been fixed? I’m losing connection in games too. Having this issue in Mut and Franchise mode. Don’t play the other modes as much. The franchise games are longer and I haven’t been able to finish one of these games. I keep losing connection with my opponents. I do have a wired connection. I didn’t have this issue with Madden 21, at least not as often. I run tests and the tests say I’m good to go. I’ve tried changing the port multiple times. Rebooted the system. I don’t know what to do.

  • I'm losing connection right after kickoff. When is it happening to you? I just want to see if I'm the only one. I haven't been able to play any h to h since update

    I too, have the same issue where I cannot play a solid 5 minutes of MUT or stay connected in my Team Binder without getting the error.

    This started happening about a month ago for me and tried uninstalling and reinstalling and nothing changed, same issues.

    I basically cannot play any online MUT or stay connected in MUT without either, getting disconnected during online game play (wanted to play house rules for packs).

    Is this something that a lot of users are experiencing on XBOX Series X? Please help, I would like to at least win House Rules without giving my opponent an easy win LOL

  • I’m having this issue now. I’ve lost 10 games when I’ve been up by 3 scores. This is *

  • I’m playing on ps5. My internet provider had me run a diagnostic and said that somehow the EA server it’s connecting to is in Ireland and that’s where the issue is. He suggested trying to connect to a domestic server but honestly I have no idea how to do that.

    This sounds like a routing issue with your ISP. Something you can try though is using alternate DNS settings with the instructions here. If you don't see a difference, try the Google DNS servers. Those are: Primary alt number 8.8.8.8 - Secondary alt number 8.8.4.4.

  • That link was for ps4 not for ps5…will that matter or should I try those instructions anyway?

  • The problem has returned after being ok for a few weeks. Lost 5 in a row in the span of 15 minutes. I am beyond frustrated.

    Try checking your router for a firmware update. Also, is your ethernet cable old and possibly damaged? You should be using at least a Cat6 cable. Also, has it been a while since you power cycled your equipment? If so, try doing it now with these steps: unplug your modem, router and console. After 2 minutes plug in the modem and router. Let them come back online completely. Then plug in your console and start it up. Let me know if any of that helps or not.

  • I am also having this issue. Started up the last month or so. Sometimes I get 10 minutes in, sometimes I get down to the 2 minute warning. Always says I disconnect from EA servers and kicks me to the main menu.
    There was no change in my internet setup that would cause these drop outs to start. I did take my Xbox off of the xbox insider program, but I don’t expect that to be related.

    I tried your suggestion to change the DNS settings but have yet to play again.

    This also makes me wonder why EA doesn’t allow for saved game data to be maintained when playing against someone in online franchise. It does this already for online franchise when you play the AI/CPU. What is stopping EA from saving data to protect against drop outs/rage quit full resets?

  • I did try to power cycle my router when I first had the problem. If I remember correctly it didn’t fix it. I stopped playing that night out of frustration. The next day I didn’t have any issues. Next time I played, the issues came back.

    Thanks for getting back to me. Next, try clearing the alternate MAC address with these instructions:

    Go to your Xbox Settings
    Go to "Network", then "Advanced Network Settings"
    Click on "Alternate MAC Address", and then click "Clear"

    Let me know what happens. Thanks!
