Just finished deleting and then reinstalling the game, and I can now connect to the EA servers normally.  This is on PS4.  

This should never need to done because of an update.  There is no QA. 

Hopefully this helps some of you who don't want to wait 1-2 days or however long it takes EA.. it took them over 12 hours just to acknowledge the issue, so I assume it will take at least twice that long to actually solve it.
