@erikm222 this bug has already been reported by other players too (incl. myself (see here, for instance: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/Issues-with-maxing-defensive-X-Factors-at-3-3/td-p/9485996/page/2)
the proposed solution is to generate a new lineup (e.g. by using the 'generate best lineup' option) and rebuild your current lineup. this solution worked for me. I assume that there is something corrupted in the database underlying your current lineup.
alternatively, I've also read that substituting all players with x-factors by other players (without any x-factors). after substituting these players, you might redo the substitutions again. I did not try this approach yet, but if you only have 2-3 players with x-factors in your lineup, this approach might be faster.
