Thank you.
- Anonymous8 years agoIt's happening with multiple players now, this is lilling the Online CFM experience. Been playing Madden since 2011 in an online franchise with a Fantasy Draft and development is always something to enjoy. This kills it.
- Anonymous8 years agoI think a few of us have pointed out that it's taking extra XP when you purchase a trait. It allows us to buy traits but only if you have enough points to cover the extra amount of points it's taking. One person pointed out that it's taking an estimated extra 22% of the XP that it shows the trait upgrade costs on the game. It's not that it won't let you purchase the traits at all, it's that it's taking extra points and if you don't have those extra XP then you can't purchase the trait.

Still kind of a gamebreaker. XP doesn't come easy and upgrading at a 22% markup means that your player is wasting 22% of his XP to purchase a trait.
- Anonymous8 years agoAgreed. It's frustrating. I was just trying to point out that's the problem with being able to purchase. So that's what they need to focus on.
- Anonymous8 years agoThis was reported a month ago! Seriously why is this not fixed yet? Before and after photos were just taken.
- Before and after picture. Definitely frustrating to deal with.
- Anonymous8 years agoThe files for the pictures are too big to post but I'm having the same problem with Danny Trevathan and purchasing the high motor trait. I have 2,465 xp and the trait costs 2,250. "The package could not be purchased."
- Same issue when trying to get the SS trait.
I think it is important that you pay attention to some of the more coherent posts. The problem is not an inability to purchase traits. The problem is one of cost display. More specifically when you purchase the trait and choose to "Submit" and save your choice, it takes an additional amount. For example: I'm trying to purchase Aggressive Catch for Chris Conley. It's cost is 2250 and I have 2711. I am able to "Increase" it, but when I choose "Submit", despite having 461 XP still available, it won't proceed and says the trait can not be purchased.

I am having this same problem except that only certain players cannot be upgraded. I play with the panthers on CFM and Curtis Samuel a WR is a player i cannot upgrade but other players like Christian Mccafffrey work fine. To be clear when i try to spend xp on any trait for Curtis Samuel it tells me the trait cannot be purchased but on most other players it allows me to spend my xp on traits.
- Anonymous8 years ago@EA_Barry Why, if this is the only means of communication with EA, can we not get a simple update? What are you doing to fix this huge problem with the game? We don't play the other * they added to Madden 18. I have always been 100% franchise player. This is *.

This really is quite frustrating...
We should at least be getting some kind of an update if there isn't a hotfix available. We can send you all the screenshots you want, but it's pretty clear what's going on. A month after release and there's still no update to fix this issue? I'd say unacceptable, but what choice do we have?
- I can’t believe this issue still has not been fixed
- Anonymous8 years agoYou and me both bro. Ridiculous to think such a large corporation can't get it together.
@EA_Barry I think it is important that you understand this issue is not fixed. You marked my last comment as an accepted solution, but it isn't a solution. It was a clarification of the actual problem. Can we please get some sort of assurance that the cost display issue is being taken care of and not ignored? It seems like at this point they've swept this under the rug either because it isn't completely game breaking or they can not seem to repeat the problem in their tests. Those of us that play almost exclusively franchise should not be handicapped by an issue that causes us to spend way more XP than we think we are.

Seeing this issue marked as "solved" is extremely disconcerting.
If it's solved, none of us has seen a solution.
@EA_Barry, come on man. You've got to give us something. Radio silence from you all week.

Acknowledged.
The question that came back to me was: have you guys possibly purchased the upgrade already and are seeing that message when trying to purchase again. If you press X or A on the "the package could not be purchased" message, does it say 'Owned' beside the upgrade you are trying to get?
Any additional info is appreciated to help us reproduce the issue.
- Anonymous8 years ago@EA_Barry No the trait has not already been purchased. Is there no one that is actually playing the damn game to replicate the issue we are having? It's not difficult to see. Has this problem already been fixed in later releases of he game?
@EA_Barry I will quote myself on the post you accepted as a "solution."

From the screenshots is looks like the purchase successful and the points are deducted but the error is still popping up.
It is possible the issue was fixed in the recent patch but the league was created before then which may explain why the error is still being shown on a successful purchase.
Have any of you guys started a new CFM since the patch?
If not, can you do that and post your results please?
- Anonymous8 years ago@EA_Barry I started a brand new one last night with the same issues. It changes to 'owned', but also gives the error message, making it unable to save and be completed. I will start another one in a minute and let you know. Thanks for the response.
@EA_Barry Yes I have tried this with new and existing online connected franchise. And no it still happens. I do not believe you are understanding the issue. Screenshots can only capture the error message itself and not the bug that is actually happening. If you play the game you know that purchasing upgrades is a 2-step process. You have to increase the trait you want to upgrade and then you have to submit the change. On XBox One you increase the trait with the A button and then submit with the "start" button. There is no problem with the first step. However when you try and SUBMIT your trait purchase and finish the process the game is trying to take ADDITIONAL XP on top of the price displayed. If you do not have the mysterious hidden extra XP it then causes the error message to pop up. If you then back out none of your XP will have been spent and no traits will have been increased. I don't think I can explain this any better at this point...
