Solved

stuck on pre snap menu, cannot snap the ball

First downloaded madden 22 on pc, ea.

When the game first started, I was put in the game with chiefs vs bucs and I went on offense and could not snap the ball.

It looked like the pre snap menu (right trigger) was constantly stuck to the screen which hindered my input (X/A) to snap the ball.

I know my controller works for other games and is not the problem. I tried reparing the game and tweaking and graphic settings (such as disabling pre-snap menu in the visual settings). There is still no luck. I looked at past forums and they still are not answered.

Please if anyone knows the solution or problem I will be very glad, I just wanna play football.

The mapping can't be changed via in-game. You may need to uninstall/remove the devices from your PC and install the latest drivers for the Xbox controller again. I know some players have had some trouble when the PC picks up another Bluetooth device or if third party software was used for controller mapping it's caused compatibility issues.

Some players used DS4 to use the PS4 controllers for the game and while it can work, we cannot guarantee the game will completely function when that software or controller is used.

    Hey there!

Do you have anything else plugged into the PC and can you check your controller/bluetooth settings on the PC to see if other devices are being picked up while playing?

I did see some troubleshooting and it seems that with just the keyboard the game runs fine and does not use the left trigger constantly (i am able to snap the ball).

However, when I plug in my controller, the issue persists and the left trigger is constantly being used even when I don't click on it.

It may have to be as a result of my controller mapping onto the game since I am using a third party controller. Is there a way I can disable or change the madden 22 controller mapping?

I would prefer if I used another third party driver for my game or look at the controls that are mapped in madden. Thanks

The Xbox One controller is the only officially supported controller for Madden. Other devices might work but we cannot guarantee you won't run into issues. :\

I think the problem is more of when I plug in a controller, the game keeps thinking it is a playstation controller (as the icons are X triangle etc.) and this mapping is wrong. Even if I used an official xbox controller, the problem still exists. The game's controlling mapping is terribly off, if there is no way to change each control on the controller?

Hi thanks for the help but I figured out after long debugging.

It was my controller, there was no issue with madden, I changed by third party mapping by other application.

    Thank you  for your time.
