None of these things should be necessary.
It boggles the mind to think that all these adjustments should be made on the user's part just to make the game run at a reasonable level of optimization. If these are temporary solutions, fine. I get it. But these games should be basically plug and play, especially with high end systems like mine and many others who are having issues.
Someone suggested lowering crowd volume to 30 (which of course kills the atmosphere) but it seems to have an effect on the stuttering. I also think crowd volume is linked to sound efx because once I lowered crowd volume I heard less sound efx like tackling, etc. That probably shouldn't be the case. I didn't get a chance to further test theory because my trial period is about to run out. I think crowd/sound efx integration might be the culprit.

You didn't notice any reduction in stuttering Mr V?
Just tried the game again and things seem much improved. The announcers still stutter in their speech a lot, but it otherwise seems to play relatively smooth. Only an audio anomaly now. CPU and GPU utilization are high (90+), but I was able to maintain smooth play at over 100fps @ 1440p for the duration.

Yea my games been crashing my pc alot. Just did it for the 5th time so i think im gonna give up on madden this year
@frakker503Doing this got rid of the really bad stuttering/lag between plays but made the audio distortion worse and caused more of a minor but noticeable judder almost constantly. But also setting the priority to realtime makes the game run the best it has yet for me. The minor judder still occurs especially when the camera goes wide and on occasion i drop 10-20 frames for a 1 or 2 seconds but its fairly rare. Thanks for sharing this workaround dude, it helps alot and its something i doubt i would've tried myself.
The new update today wasn't so good in fact it didn't fix anything it made my fps go from 150 to 80, the realtime thing is now not working as before its lagging the game as before the update the game was playable, this sucksssssss hopefully on the 2nd a real fix will be evident.
@xxlordocelotxxAlso just discovered if you also set your audio processes to realtime also it almost completely eliminates the audio distortion and only causes slightly more stutter/judder.
@MattBFC19yea i'm really hoping for a "day 1" patch that fixes this, i've pretty much given up hope of getting a fix before then. Early access this year has been a disaster and i feel ripped off.
Same issues here. I’ve tried every variation of the work arounds to no avail. I spent all of early access trouble shooting this issue. Definite rip off.

Community ManagerHave any of you tried playing on DX11 instead of DX12 to see if there is better performance. Another forum user posted some improved performance after doing steps in this post.

Glad I haven't bought the game yet, figured Origin Premier for a month to see if PC community in the UK is dead or not was smart, now it seems there's bad performance, it was an even greater shout!
The issue here is that this is happening on PC. And we know how small and young the community is on PC. Madden was only made for PC last year and unfortunately developers don't care enough for us. PC is only used as a great "guinea pig" for checking out the new patch, before its released on Xbox and PS. It's completely the same as FIFA.
If this stuttering, audio chopping, solos freezing happened on consoles, EA would made it a huge priority and provided a solution in the matter of 48 hours. You can see how quick they solved the Quick Presentation thing. Even Kraelo mentioned on stream, so you know they can do things extremely fast. The fact we "buyers" have to find solutions ourself is shameful. To even dare to say some people resolved this issue by going to task manager>more properties>set realtime is amazingly hurtful to the players. It's not our job to find this solution or to even have issues. This is not a game that requires a good PC, let alone a super gaming PC, the settings are basically the same as last year and my PC gets better updates and drivers every month... And you guys can write about Origin Premier Access and cancelling it, it doesn't matter because the PC Madden community is like a drop in the ocean for EA. Most of people take Premier Access for other games like FIFA, BF etc..
It's nice for @EA_Blueberry to go so far and check this thread, but I am sure that maybe 2 or 3 people are working on this and it isn't getting enough attention it deserves. The game is out for over 10 days now and obviously if this were to be solved or had any priority, EA would find a solution. But of course Blueberry is not at fault here, he can only wait for something to happen..
I am really sad, because the game is much better than last year, but this problems are really annoying and it destroyed the experience for a lot of people.

Yea not even sure they plan to fix it either. Over a week later and “the team will take a look at it next week” is the response lol. Must have a pretty relaxed SLA over at EA.
