ASRock Z170 PRO4S motherboard
i5 6600K
16 GB Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 DRAM 3000Mhz
RTX 2070 Super
Edit: I usually use a Corsair Vengeance 1500 USB headset, but have the same issue if I unplug them and use onboard sound/speakers
@EA_BlueberryRegarding the audio issues: they sound exactly the same as in Madden 19 and FIFA 19. In those games, they were introduced after a patch shortly after release and quickly patched out again with a small update. Could this be the same issue, unrelated to the stuttering?
My motherboard is not an MSI one, it's an Asus Maximus VII Gene. It does come with a Supreme FX soundcard. But I don't use it. I use a FiiO E10k DAC and amplifier instead.
The stuttering and high CPU usage is new. It seems to me the main cause is not hardware related. All my other games, including other games using the Frostbite engine (tested Madden 19, FIFA 19, Battlefield V the last few days), run just fine. Even racing sims in VR, which are a lot more CPU intensive, run well. Also, if you change your settings, you can see the CPU usage change accordingly in the other games, which is not the case with Madden 20.
Anyway, I'm not a software engineer, so take this for what you will. I just hope it can be useful in some way.

Christ almighty, its not our motherboards. Basically everyone has a different one. First it was CPU, then Barry came in with Nvidia graphics, now motherboards.. Whats next, we need to buy a new PC?
And really enough with this troubleshooting. We are not PC specialist(maybe some are), we want to play the game. I dont have the time to unistall, check what i have in my PC, install 5 programs etc to run a game which could run on a mid end laptop...
Come on, do better.

OK, now you're just trying to build a case to justify a new machine. ;-)- 6 years ago
I just started having the issue today. My game becomes completely unplayable. I have to basically go back to the desktop and start over.
I have an Asus ROG laptop with the following specs, so it definitely should NOT be happening. I've even reinstalled my graphics drivers.
Intel Core i7 7700HQ
32GB DDR4 Ram
1 TB Samsung 860 EVO
1 TB Hitachi SSD
4GB Geforce GTX 1050
