Trade block down why?

So I'm not trying to get banned I dint sell players or coins but I do try to trade my cousin my left over cards to help him build his ultimate team but the trade block isn't working and im trying to get him into madden so he will start buying packs once he realizes how fun the game is how do I help him with players if the trade block is down its very hard for me to get him into the game when I can't trade him csrds
