SOLUTION!!!!!
It likely isn’t working because the cards you are trying to use to complete the set would “take you below the min # of blah blah position”. So it bugs out and kicks you from the server, cuz TECHNICALLY you HAVE the cards but at the same time would make you do something the game won’t let you do. Like hitting the gas and the breaks at the same time haha.
If you look at the bottom of the set, you’ll see a magnifying glass, as if you need to search for more cards. The number of magnifying glasses is the number of cards the are creating this conflict. I know it’s annoying, but now select EACH card and load SPECIFICALLY the card that is being suggested by the cover art. By doing this, you will slowly but eventually narrow it down to the specific cards that would bring you below the minimum. You can even confirm this by trying to auction the card (choose a high enough amount you’re ok selling it for as a safety net). It will give you a message saying what I’ve just said.
if this has all gone as I said, simply buy one backup player for each remaining conflicting card and the problem should be solved 🙂
Omg, what might be even easier is load cards one by one. Whatever card gets you kicked is likely the last card of that position… so just buy another card in the same position and that might work too and be much faster

They refuse to fix it, it’s been around since release and the only way around it is to either sell or trade the cards for new ones that you havnt upgraded with training I’d be careful doing this tho as me and a mate traded mine back and forward, I have since been banned awaiting anyone to get back to me

Whilst having Multiple players in multiple positions in my team this bug is still occurring
It likely isn’t working because of a bug in the game right now that EA refuse to acknowledge or fix cause if a set fails for one individual they know the person will have to pad there team another way meaning more money for them.
Possible Solution my friend worked around it apparently if you upgrade the cards and refund the upgrade the game is still recognising them as binded when completing these Sets.
i'm yet to try it myself but selling the cards and rebuying them off the auction house apparently worked. Good Luck guys

From what I’ve seen and noticed it happens when you upgrade a card and downgrade it. I would imagine there’s a coding issue causing the set to think that card is bnd causing the error. I had the same issue and bought a new set of same cards and it worked. Its really annoying and inconvenient. I hope this gets resolved soon
im having the same problem with the 89 ovr justin jefferson headliner set ive tried to individually put each card into the set but it still pops up the error screen and sends me to the home screen of madden where you first open the game please fix this bug i really enjoy the game but with all these problems it makes me want to turn the game off im sure its the same for other people too if you guys dont decide to fix it heres my psn Ahhgerm-
